Leo Gandelman and the Symphony Orchestra of Theatro da Paz Celebrate the Amazon
The show brought together compositions by Villa Lobos, Tom Jobim, Radamés Gnatalli, and Gandelman himself in Belém
The audience packed Theatro da Paz on the night of this Sunday, the 16th, to watch the show "Songs of the Amazon Forest" with saxophonist Leo Gandelman and the Symphony Orchestra of Theatro da Paz under the direction of principal conductor Miguel Campos Neto.
The concert is an open letter celebrating Brazil's cultural richness and features compositions by Villa Lobos, Tom Jobim, Radamés Gnatalli, and Gandelman himself.
During the performance, the audience was treated to a vibrant backdrop, composed of films of the forest and photos of indigenous peoples, produced by photographer Cafi, with art direction by Oskar Metsavaht and narration by Ailton Krenak.
Psychologist Rosângela Maciel, 51, enjoyed her Sunday night with friends at Da Paz and was enchanted by the show. "Being in this beautiful place is wonderful in itself, and to indulge in this show with the Orchestra and Leo, whom I am a fan of, is just amazing! I hope he comes back more often."
