State tax auditors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), stationed at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Gurupi, in Cachoeira do Piriá, bordering Maranhão, in northeastern Pará, seized, this Sunday (16), 20 cubic meters of sawn wood load in portals and doors, valued at R$ 53,320.00.

“The load of sawn wood was heading from the municipality of Moju (PA) to Itaberaba (BA). The fiscal document presented indicated the transport of 18 cubic meters of red wood portals and 1.5 cubic meters of cushion doors. Although the physical quantities were confirmed, the inspection found that the taxpayer used incorrect units of measurement, which significantly reduced the value of the operation,” reported coordinator Gustavo Bozola.

According to Sefa, portals should be quantified in sets, and cushion doors in units. The correction of the unit of measurement resulted in a calculation base of R$ 53,320.50, higher than the R$ 7,123.91 declared in the fiscal document. Given the attempt to reduce the calculation base, the fiscal document was disregarded, and a Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued in the amount of R$ 11,517.23, referring to the tax due and the fine for the infraction.

Doors – At the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Sefa in Araguaia, on highway PA-447, km-15, in Conceição do Araguaia, state tax auditors seized, this Monday (17), 48 pieces of doors and pre-molded frames valued at R$ 290,400.00, which left São José da Lapa (MG) destined for a non-taxpayer company in Parauapebas, in the Southeast of the State.

“The auditors consulted the electronic invoice system and saw that the sender did not collect the Differential Rate (Difal) to the State of Pará, and that there was no prior collection of ICMS,” said coordinator Renato Couto.

Four Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs) were issued for a total amount of R$ 60,231.12 referring to tax and fine, which amounts were collected and the goods released.

Tires – State tax auditors stationed at the Sefa Coordination of Tapajós, Baixo Amazonas, seized, on Sunday (16), 140 automotive tires of various models valued at R$ 72,446.95.

The merchandise was located by the Military Police in the municipality of Juruti, in Baixo Amazonas, when they stopped a pickup truck. “The PM unit contacted the auditors from the Sefa unit in Óbidos and, during the verification of the documentation presented by the transporter, it was found that the transport was covered by receipts and internal invoices from Amazonas, meaning there was no record of operation destined for Pará. By cross-referencing the CPF of the transporter in our system, the inspection found that there is an active National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ) and that the company lists as a partner the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) of a company based in Itaituba, Pará,” explained coordinator Roberto Mota.

According to Sefa's inspection, after the implementation of the Candiru Base in Óbidos, in Baixo Amazonas, there was an increase in attempts to evade inspection, trying to unload goods in neighboring municipalities, using back roads to escape inspection. “The close relationship between the Military Police and Sefa in Baixo Amazonas brings greater effectiveness to the actions against tax evasion in the region,” concluded the state tax auditor. A TAD was issued in the amount of R$ 24,776.86, referring to tax and fine.
