The truck was transporting goods valued at R$ 56 thousand, without the correct ICMS collection, a state tax

During an inspection carried out by inspectors assigned to the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Carajás, from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), in the southeastern state, 42 units of orthopedic equipment valued at R$ 56,694.54 were seized on Monday (17).

The seizure occurred at the São Geraldo do Araguaia tax post when a truck transporting goods from the municipality of Juiz de Fora/MG, destined for Belém/PA, was approached.

“After the document analysis and consultations with Sefa's systems, it was found that the taxpayer failed to collect the ICMS related to the differential of rates (Difal), since the interstate operation had as its recipient a final consumer who is not a taxpayer of the tax, as determined by current legislation,” explained coordinator Cicinato Oliveira.

A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 9,524.68, referring to the ICMS and fine.

Gurupi – In the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, in Cacheira do Piriá, visual communication material valued at R$ 90 thousand was seized on Tuesday (18).

The goods left Recife (PE) destined for the municipality of São Miguel do Guamá (PA). The shipment consisted of mobilization/installation kits, totems, reflectors, and visual communication equipment, all intended for integration into the permanent assets of the recipient establishment.

"The driver presented a fiscal document related to the operation. However, when the registration status was checked, it was found that the recipient was suspended for not issuing fiscal documents for more than 90 days, a condition that prevents the receipt of goods from another federation unit,” explained coordinator Gustavo Bozola.

The fiscal document was disregarded, and a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up, with advance collection of the due tax. The amount was R$14,974.23.
