The Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Pará (Emater-Pará) launched on this Monday (17), during the I International Forum on Family Agriculture and Traditional Communities – Solutions for Climate Transition in the Global South, the Sisater Pai D'égua App. The event was held during the programming of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém.

The Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Activity Monitoring System (Sisater) is a system composed of various modules containing information about beneficiaries, social organizations, production units, activity records, rural credit, among others. But from now on, it can be used in the palm of the hand by those in the field: the rural extensionist.

For Ricardo Dohara, rural extensionist from the Emater Local Office in São Francisco do Pará, the app will be a facilitator during the activities of extensionists in the field.

“The Sisater itself is already a fantastic tool for our work because with it we can monitor and provide services to small farmers. Now, with the app on the cell phone, we will be able to carry this tool in hand, and this will greatly increase the dynamism of our service,” he stated.

Just weeks away from completing 60 years of operation in the state of Pará, Emater is increasingly renewing itself and keeping up with technological changes to improve service to small farmers throughout the state.

“This app will serve as a facilitating and technological instrument to feed our information system about family farmers and all the activities and assistance they have received, enabling the generation of statements that are normally used by them for retirement, proving their activities, and this will further facilitate access to rural credit, among other benefits, in addition to promoting direct communication with local offices for scheduling their activities, allowing digital inclusion,” explained Cristiane Corrêa, Technical Coordinator of Emater-Pará.

At the launch event, a Technical Cooperation Agreement (TCT) was signed with the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM), a partner in the creation and development of the app.

It is in the final testing phase, which began in October, in the municipalities of Marituba and Ananindeua. After the completion of this stage, the platform will be available to extensionists in the 144 municipalities of the state of Pará.
