Hemopa highlights the role of biomedical professionals in serving the population of Pará
Professionals work in essential areas of the blood network, ensuring quality, innovation, and safety in the services provided to the population
On Biomedical Day, celebrated this Thursday (20), the Hemotherapy and Hematology Center of Pará Foundation (Hemopa) recognizes the contribution of professionals who work daily in strategic sectors of the institution, such as hemotherapy, hematology, molecular biology, immuno-hematology, transplant support, and laboratory management. The role of biomedical professionals is essential to ensure the efficiency of the processes that support the care of donors and patients throughout the Pará blood network.
Coordinator of Laboratories at Hemopa, biomedical professional Maurício Koury Palmeira emphasizes that the category is "indispensable" for the functioning of the institution. According to him, it is the responsibility of the biomedical professional to ensure high standards of analytical quality, apply cutting-edge technologies, and organize operational flows that provide safety to the services rendered.
"Our commitment is to ensure high standards of quality, employing cutting-edge technologies and organizing flows that sustain the efficiency of the blood network. The role of the biomedical professional directly contributes to the safety of the services provided to the population," he explains.
The work within Hemopa involves laboratory routine, management of units, implementation of quality systems, validation of methods, interpretation of results, and technical support to assistance teams. Biomedical professionals also collaborate with research activities and the training of new professionals, strengthening scientific development in the field.
The challenges include keeping up with technological advancements, meeting regulatory requirements, managing resources, and maintaining operational performance even during periods of high demand. "It is a role that requires strategic vision, adaptability, and constant focus on improvement," Maurício reinforces.
With over three decades of work at Hemopa, the coordinator recalls the personal significance of the date. "It is my first job and the place where I discovered my passion for hemotherapy and management. Celebrating Biomedical Day at Hemopa is celebrating a team that works with technical excellence, commitment to public service, and a direct impact on the health of the population."
The Hemopa Foundation reinforces its recognition of the biomedical professionals who are part of its units and services, valuing the essential role of these professionals in strengthening the state blood network.
