State Government provides support to fire victims in the Guamá neighborhood, in Belém
Seaster promoted the assessment of immediate needs and is arranging the payment of the eventual social benefit to the affected families
The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, Labor, Employment and Income (Seaster), was on this Thursday (20) in the Guamá neighborhood, in Belém, at the site where a fire affected the homes of two families, one with total loss and the other with partial loss of property.
Seaster's actions include assessing immediate needs. The secretariat is awaiting a socioeconomic report provided by the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance of Belém, so that, subsequently, the payment of the eventual benefit to the affected families can be authorized.
"The Government of Pará acts with commitment towards the population that needs it most, and through the support provided, we ensure that these families have support to start over. Our role is to stand by these people and provide appropriate conditions for them to overcome this difficult moment," emphasized Inocencio Gasparim, head of Seaster.
Benefit
Eventual benefits are provided for in the Organic Law of Social Assistance (Loas). The aid is offered to citizens and families who do not have the means to face adverse situations on their own, such as birth, death, temporary vulnerability, or public calamity — circumstances that compromise the maintenance of life with dignity.
The benefit is granted for up to about three months, in an amount equivalent to one minimum wage per month. This action is part of the public policy of social protection implemented by the Government of Pará, through Seaster, which ensures rights to face emergency situations, aiming to promote more dignity, income security, and a fresh start for vulnerable families, reaffirming its commitment to a humanized and efficient social assistance.
