CNH Pai D'égua Program Consolidates as a Policy of Inclusion in the Pará Territory
Beneficiaries gain access to the job market and family income
The CNH Pai D'égua Social Program has been consolidating itself as one of the largest social inclusion policies devised by the Government of Pará. Focused on opening more opportunities in the job market, the program has been opening doors and improving the income of new beneficiaries.
All licenses issued by the Program are classified as "Exerce Atividade Remunerada" (EAR), "so that these people can use the document to improve their income, whether in their current job or perhaps even getting a new job as a driver," explains the General Director of the State Traffic Department (Detran), Renata Coelho.
In some cases, beneficiaries sought the program to maintain their jobs. This was the case for app driver Selton Melo, 33, a resident of the Icoaraci district in Belém. Registered as PcD (Person with Disability) due to scoliosis in his spine, he reports that he was already working in passenger transport via app, but since he only had a CNH in category A without paid activity, the hiring company was threatening to disqualify him.
"That's when CNH Pai D'égua came up, and I signed up. Today, my CNH is EAR, and with it, I am able to work and support my family," he states. The driver is also making plans with the social license and says he intends to pass a public exam or have a formal job with a signed contract.
Resident of Cachoeira do Arari, on the island of Marajó, Elisana Avelar, 22, is using her CNH to boost the sale of cheese produced by her family. "I always travel to deliver orders, and now, licensed, I am free to work without worry and increase sales to improve the household income," she reports. For her, it was extraordinary to be contemplated by the program and have the opportunity to obtain a completely free license.
"It was a great achievement; I could hardly believe it when I was approved, and I was very emotional when I received the document. We hear about everything being free, but we don't believe it's really true, but I am proof of the program's seriousness, and for that, I am just grateful for this opportunity," she concludes.
Paulo Sérgio Costa lives in Mosqueiro, in the metropolitan region of Belém, and registered for CNH Pai D'égua in 2024 during the service at the mobile unit provided by Detran in the district. Recently, he received the document and realized his dream of buying a motorcycle to work independently as an app driver.
"In the past, I depended on public transport, which made me lose a lot of time. Today, besides saving time, I earn money. This program transformed my life for the much better; it was worth it," emphasizes Paulo Sérgio.
In the 2024 edition, the State Government ensured 60,000 completely free CNHs in 144 municipalities. In several of them, beneficiaries have already received the document to turn dreams into reality, whether for those who obtained their first license or for those who changed or added a category.
The State Government continues to deliver CNHs in all regions of Pará. In addition to the beneficiaries served by the regulatory notice, the program has also been extended to workers from Cotijuba, road workers, and atypical mothers.
