In 5 days, approximately 135,000 people attended the Pará Pavilion - Municipalities COP30, with Thursday setting a record attendance of over 50,000 people
The Pará Pavilion Municipalities concluded its participation in the official COP30 program on Friday (21) at the Centenário Convention Center in Belém, establishing itself as one of the most visited spaces of the global climate event.
Over five days, approximately 135,000 people passed through the venue, with a highlight on Thursday (20), when the highest visitor flow was recorded, with 50,900 accesses, the largest number since the beginning of the program. The intense popular participation confirmed national and international interest in Pará's municipal initiatives and the state's cultural diversity.
The last day of activities brought together managers, researchers, chefs, local producers, students, and tourists in a program that combined discussions on sustainability, public policies, and Amazonian gastronomic experiences. The agenda began with the panel "The Amazon that Acts: Local Solutions for a Global Future," which presented successful practices in conservation and territorial management.
The Secretary of the Environment of Viseu, Sônia Santos, highlighted the Community Environmental Agreements, an initiative that returned protagonism to communities in managing natural resources. "The community expresses interest and, gathered, defines the problems, the limits, and the rules of the territory. Where there were no fish, there are fish again. Where shrimp had disappeared, they have returned with strength. The community agreement restores belonging. The community defines itself, organizes, and commits to conservation," she stated.
Next, the Secretary of the Environment of Breves, Íkaro Gama, presented the project From Waste to Shine and the Bioculture Park, aimed at waste management and the recovery of sensitive areas in Marajó. He advocated for the importance of Amazonian participation in the climate debate. "We need to be part of this dialogue. We are the ones who feel, who live in the forest and face the challenges. This space is essential to showcase our practices and leave a real legacy for the municipalities," he emphasized.
The technical program concluded with a lecture on the Tourism Regionalization Program, conducted by Setur technicians, Hugo Almeida and Cleber Gomes, who reinforced the need to strengthen local governance to consolidate sustainable destinations in light of the global visibility provided by COP30.
Throughout the day, the Kitchen Show maintained a large audience and presented dishes that represented Pará's gastronomic diversity. Chef Márcio Cardoso Nascimento from Vigia opened the presentations with Gurijuba with tucupi velouté. Next, Chef Hugo Queiroz from Tomé-Açu presented Earthy Filhote with buttery velouté, highlighting the richness of ingredients and spices from the region. Chef Luis Valente from Portel moved the audience with Filhote Aruçarã, composed of tucupi broth rice, grilled filhote in shrimp butter, and sautéed shrimp. "The inspiration comes from the Amazon, a tribute to Portel. Participating in an event of this magnitude is an honor, just gratitude," said the chef with 43 years of experience.
The gastronomic closing was led by Chef and Mayor of Tailândia, Lauro Hoffmann, who presented the traditional Arroz de Suã, a dish of popular origin and strong emotional symbolism. "Cooking has always been part of my life. Even as a councilman and later as mayor, I have always taught cooking classes. Pará is under the eyes of the world, and our gastronomy is a pride that crosses borders," he declared.
Among the visitors, sociologist Carla Lloret, originally from Rio Grande do Sul and residing in São Paulo, took the opportunity on Friday to explore the space. "I am enchanted by the level of organization of each municipality, with the sustainability work, with the professional way they are promoting culture, circular economy, and gastronomy. The warmth of the people from Pará is impressive. The fair is impeccable. Very cool," she evaluated.
The Secretary of Tourism of Pará, Eduardo Costa, assessed the performance of the Pavilion over the five days. According to him, the space revealed the best of the municipalities and reinforced Pará's role as host of COP30. "The Pará Pavilion Municipalities was an extraordinary showcase of our state. We had 135,000 visitors who experienced the strength of our communities, our public policies, our gastronomy, and our culture. Each municipality showcased its potential and its capacity to build real solutions for sustainable development. This pavilion leaves a legacy of unity, creativity, and appreciation of the Pará territory. Pará is prepared, mature, and proud to welcome the world," he stated.
