Mangueirão experiences a historic Sunday with nearly 50,000 fans and Remo's promotion to Serie A

After 32 years, the Blue Lion returns to the elite of Brazilian football with an unquestionable 3-1 victory over Goiás, turning a dream into reality

The Olympic Stadium of Pará – Journalist Edgar Proença, Mangueirão, was the stage for an unforgettable afternoon this Sunday (23). Driven by over 49,706 blue supporters, Clube do Remo defeated Goiás by a score of 3 to 1 in the 38th and final round of the Serie B of the Brazilian Championship, confirming the long-awaited promotion to Serie A of the Brazilian Championship in 2026, ending a 32-year wait.

The atmosphere was one of a final from early on. Flags, chants, the blue colors, and an energy that took over the stands transformed Mangueirão into a true cauldron, reaffirming its position as one of the largest and most vibrant stages of Brazilian football.

Present at the stadium, the Secretary of State for Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, celebrated the moment and highlighted the relevance of the arena in rebuilding the self-esteem of the supporters.

“Mangueirão is living one of its greatest moments today. Seeing more than 49,000 Remo fans pushing the team and witnessing Remo's return to the elite of Brazilian football shows the strength of Pará's sport. The Government of Pará is proud to offer a modern, safe stadium prepared to host great decisions like this. It is a historic day for our football and for our people,” said the secretary.

Among the thousands of supporters, many could not hold back tears upon seeing the Blue Lion return to the top after so many decades. Administrator Eduardo Pantoja, 44, described the emotion of living the moment.
“I grew up hearing my father tell how it was to see Remo in the first division. Today I realized that dream with him by my side. When the third goal was scored, I cried. Mangueirão vibrated like I had never seen in my life. It is a day I will cherish forever,” he said, emotional next to his son.

The security system mobilized the necessary police force to ensure the tranquility of the match

of the season and reinforced its role as one of the most important arenas in the country. Impeccable structure, excellent pitch conditions, and special operations ensured safety, mobility, and comfort for the fans.
