Agents of the 'Candiru' River Base execute arrest warrant for attempted homicide
The arrest of the suspect reinforces the effectiveness of continuous inspection actions carried out by the personnel of the river bases in the extensive river network of Pará
Agents from the Integrated River Base Candiru, linked to the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), on the morning of this Wednesday (26) executed a preventive arrest warrant issued against a man for the crime of attempted homicide. The arrest occurred during a routine operation, while approaching a vessel navigating the Amazon River, in the municipality of Óbidos, in western Pará.
The man was identified on the vessel "Ferry Boat Imperador," which had departed from Manaus, the capital of Amazonas, heading to the municipality of Alenquer, in Pará. During personal searches, the information from the arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court of Jacareacanga (a municipality in southwestern Pará) was confirmed. The suspect was taken for appropriate procedures and is now at the disposal of the Justice.
Efficiency - The execution of the court order by public security teams reiterates the continuous work of inspection and approach to vessels on the rivers of Pará, ensuring compliance with the law, the dismantling of criminal actions, and the safety of the population in communities near these river areas.
For the State Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, the arrest demonstrates the seriousness of the State in combating crime. "This action demonstrates the crucial importance of the River Base in fighting crime, ensuring compliance with the law, the protection of society that lives in or uses the rivers as a transport route, and reinforces the commitment to public safety in all regions of Pará. The presence and effective action of the 'Candiru' Base has been indispensable for identifying individuals involved in criminal practices, who are somehow evading Justice, and also for catching in the act those who insist on crossing the rivers with illegal materials, such as for drug trafficking," he emphasized.
