Sipat 2025 of EETEPA Presidente Costa e Silva highlights the impacts of digital dependence on workers' health
The event brought together specialists, teachers, and students to discuss one of the most urgent challenges of the contemporary work environment
The Technical School of the State of Pará (EETEPA) Presidente Costa e Silva, in Belém, held on November 26 and 27, the 2025 edition of the Internal Week for Accident Prevention and Workplace Harassment (Sipat). With the theme "The impacts of digital dependence on the Physical and Emotional Health of Workers," the event brought together specialists, teachers, and students to discuss one of the most urgent challenges of the contemporary work environment.
The action was organized and coordinated by professors Marília Costa, Valena Leão, Eliny Miranda, and Narjara Rúbia, along with students from the Occupational Safety course. The closing of Sipat coincided with the Day of the Engineer and the Occupational Safety Technician, celebrated on November 27, and aimed to provide students with practical experience of the routines of the Occupational Safety Technician, stimulating comprehensive training and strengthening integration among future professionals in the field.
The program included lectures given by psychologists, ergonomists, and Keith Cardoso, a former student of the EETEPA network who works in the field as an Occupational Safety Technician, bringing different perspectives on the effects of technology on the physical and emotional well-being of workers. In addition, the event included cultural moments, such as parodies, a theatrical play, a scavenger hunt, a beauty contest, and raffles. All activities were conceived and executed by the students themselves.
For Keith, the program reinforces knowledge and brings students closer to the reality of the job market. "I thank EETEPA for the invitation and believe that moments like this, of exchanging experiences, are essential for students to complete their courses better prepared to work in their field. It is gratifying to be able to share a bit of my journey," she declared.
The students also highlighted the importance of the practical experience provided by Sipat. For Carlos Rafael Ataíde, the experience has been essential for his professional development. "Participating in Sipat has been a transformative experience. Each activity brings us closer to the reality of the profession and reinforces how essential practice is for our training. The lectures and experiences are broadening my view on prevention, care, and responsible action in the workplace. It is inspiring to learn from professionals who are already on this path."
The statement from student Abelardo Silva Júnior also demonstrates the satisfaction of the young people in participating in the process from start to finish and how the activities added knowledge beyond the classroom. "I thank the Costa e Silva Technical School for the excellent work done and for the positive impact it has had on my training. The activities, guidance, and actions developed have expanded my knowledge, strengthened my view on safety and prevention, and contributed significantly to my personal and professional development. I am grateful for the effort, dedication, and commitment of the entire team, which made this experience an enriching moment of great learning."
Siany Batista emphasizes how much the event has broadened her understanding of the role of the Occupational Safety Technician: "These days of Sipat are expanding my perception of the role of the Occupational Safety Technician. Each lecture and activity strengthens our understanding of the importance of caring for the health and safety of employees. I am really enjoying the event and admire the teachers' efforts to provide such comprehensive learning," she said.
