Eetepa Dr. Celso Malcher holds the V Science and Technology Exhibition focusing on innovation and sustainability in the Amazon
The event engaged the school community and reinforced the commitment of the Secretary of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet) to the training of young protagonists of sustainable development
The State Technical School of Pará (Eetepa) Dr. Celso Malcher, in Belém, held the V Science and Technology Exhibition this Friday (28), which this year brought the theme "Technology and Innovation in Combating Climate Change: Building a Sustainable Future in the Amazon."
The event engaged the school community and reinforced the commitment of the Secretary of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet) to the training of young protagonists of sustainable development. The program brought together students, teachers, researchers, and visitors in an environment dedicated to knowledge exchange, scientific dissemination, and environmental engagement.
The Exhibition proposed an in-depth reflection on the impacts of climate change in the Amazon region, highlighting the importance of developing innovative solutions aligned with local realities. With a focus on student protagonism, the initiative encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and applied research, showing how science can emerge from everyday life and transform realities.
For the Deputy Secretary of Sectet, Keynes Silva, the Exhibition reaffirms the role of technical education in building sustainable alternatives for the State. "Events like this strengthen the integration between science, technology, and socio-environmental responsibility. By encouraging students to research and propose solutions to real challenges, we bring education closer to the future we want for the Amazon," he emphasized.
The school's principal, Darcilena Correia, highlighted the commitment of the school community in organizing the Exhibition. "Each project presented here demonstrates how prepared our students are to think critically and contribute innovative ideas. The school takes pride in promoting a space where youth can create, experiment, and showcase their talent to society," she stated.
Projects
At the booths, the audience learned about projects that addressed everything from environmental education practices to technological tools created by the students themselves. Among the highlights were "Cine Malcher: From Cameras and Spotlights to the School"; "Sustainable Trash Bins: Interactive Environmental Education"; "The 5 Rs of Sustainability"; "Materials and Their Decomposition Times"; "Celso Malcher Sustainable – School Model"; mathematical games; game creation in Scratch; the EcoClay app; the project "Girls in Engineering," among other initiatives. In total, more than 40 projects were exhibited.
Student Enzo Mesquita, from the 1st year of Computer Science, presented a project on mathematics applied to everyday life. For him, the Exhibition broadens the understanding of the content studied. "We realize that mathematics is not just in the book. It is part of our lives, and bringing this in the form of a project helps to show how we can use this knowledge to solve real problems," he detailed.
Similarly, Rafaely Silva, from the 3rd year of Logistics, highlighted the relevance of discussing sustainability at school. "My project presents a sustainable solution for the school environment, showing that small changes can generate significant impacts. Participating in the Exhibition is a way to encourage our peers to think about the environment practically and responsibly," she reinforced.
Student Wagner Cauan, from the 1st year of Administration, emphasized the importance of events that unite technology, creativity, and environmental awareness. "The Exhibition promotes interaction, idea exchange, and innovation. It is an event that motivates us to develop projects that connect technology and the environment, aligning study and social responsibility," he stressed.
Extensive Program
Professor and Exhibition coordinator, Cíntia Rodrigues, celebrated the community's involvement and the pedagogical impact of the event. "The V Exhibition is the result of the efforts of teachers and students who believe in scientific education as a tool for social transformation. Seeing the participation and enthusiasm of the students is proof that we are on the right track," she summarized.
In addition to the exhibitions, the event offered workshops, lectures, practical activities such as producing sustainable pots and terrariums, as well as cultural presentations and prize draws, creating a dynamic environment that integrated science, technology, culture, and sustainability.
The Exhibition was supported by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), Ministry of Education (MEC), and Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes).
"With initiatives like this, Eetepa Dr. Celso Malcher reinforces its role as a reference in technical education in Pará, contributing to the formation of more conscious, critical students prepared to act in building a sustainable future for the Amazon," emphasized the Director of Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Detec) of Sectet, Washington Corrêa, who also attended the event.
