Sefa seizes more than 4,000 counterfeit sneakers and 1,900 lamps
The load of sneakers was seized by the inspection team from Gurupi, while Sefa officials in the Araguaia Coordination identified an irregular load of LED lamps.
More than 4,900 pairs of counterfeit sneakers, valued at R$ 456,000, were seized by tax inspectors working in the Coordination of Goods in Transit in Gurupi, in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará, on the border of Pará with Maranhão, on Saturday (29). The load was being transported in a truck, after leaving Nova Serrana (MG) destined for several municipalities in Pará and Macapá (AP).
"After the inspection began, the officials suspected the veracity of the information contained in the tax documents and decided to physically inspect the load. They found, among other boxes of shoes, 410 boxes containing, each, 12 pairs of sneakers from famous brands, totaling 4,920 pairs,” said coordinator Gustavo Bozola.
Photos of the merchandise were sent to the companies holding the rights to the brands, and all issued reports confirming the counterfeiting of the products. A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued, in the amount of R$ 155,980.73, referring to the tax and the fine.
LED Lamps – In the Sefa Coordination of Araguaia, at KM-15 of PA-447 Highway, in the municipality of Conceição do Araguaia, southern Pará, 1,900 LED lamps were seized this Sunday (30). The merchandise, which left Itupeva (SP) destined for a non-contributing company in Parauapebas (PA), was valued at R$ 392,425.00.
“The inspectors consulted the system and saw that the sender did not collect the Tax Differential Rate (Difal) to the State of Pará. The transporter presented a rental contract for the lamps, but the material is for use and consumption, and would not return to the place of origin,” explained coordinator Renato Couto.
The contract was disregarded and a Seizure and Deposit Term was drawn up, in the amount of R$ 65,927.40, referring to the tax and the fine.
