The management team of the State Department of Education (Seduc), continuing with technical inspections to ensure pedagogical and structural improvements in public education within the state network, visited, on this Monday (1), the Regional Education Directorates (DREs) 2 and 3 in Belém.

In the morning, the head of Seduc, Ricardo Sefer, visited DRE 2, which encompasses 21 school units and approximately 10,000 students enrolled for the 2025 school year.

The visit began with a conversation at the headquarters of the regional education directorate alongside teachers, directors, and students from the Rui Barbosa State School. The secretary spoke about the importance of being close to and knowing the school community.

“I usually say that I am a secretary from the 'school floor' who comes and knows the schools, understands the problems and the reality faced by students, teachers, directors, and all the staff of the state education units. This way, we can work together to build quality education,” emphasized the manager.

DRE 2 is the 28th regional education unit that the education secretary has visited since the beginning of his management. The visit schedule included the Rui Barbosa, David Salomão Mufarrej, Santa Maria State Schools, and the reconstruction works of the Marluce Pacheco educational unit.

Magno Sotera is a 3rd-year high school student at the David Mufarrej state school. He shares that he hopes the manager's visit brings results for the well-being of the students.

“We have never received a visit from the education secretary, and we hope this visit can bring improvements to the school because we face a lot of heat here. I will leave this day with a visit from the education secretary. I hope this year leaves a legacy for the other students who will come in, that they have air conditioning, that they have an adequate space to study. Because we can't have a good class, we can't concentrate in this heat,” the student requested.

In the afternoon, the management of the Secretary conducted a technical visit to the Regional Education Directorate (DRE) Belém 3. The program included a reception at the regional headquarters and then a visit to the schools in the area.

The delegation proceeded to the Ruth Rosita State School, where a musical performance by a student from the João Renato Franco School was held, playing the violin. Following that, students from the Maria Luiza Vella Alves School, from the 2nd year of elementary school, from the Alfabetiza Pará program, performed a carimbó presentation. Additionally, there was a meeting with the managers of all the schools in the DRE.

During the meeting, the highlighted projects of the DRE in the area of Environmental Education were also presented, showcasing pedagogical practices developed by the schools in the region. After the presentations, the secretary toured the spaces of the school unit.

DRE Belém 3 serves 21 schools in the state network. In addition to Ruth Rosita, the visit included the Monsenhor Azevedo, Frei Daniel, Vereador Gonçalo Duarte, and Antônia Paes da Silva schools, where the secretary spoke with management teams and checked structural and pedagogical demands.

The head of DRE Belém 3, Etienne Andrade, emphasized the relevance of the state management's presence in the region.

“The secretary's visit strengthens our work. It is an opportunity to present our needs, align actions, and reinforce the commitment to quality public education. His presence in the DRE demonstrates attention, listening, and closeness to the reality of the schools.”

With DRE Belém 3, a total of 29 Regional Education Directorates have been visited by the management, and the goal is for all DREs to be visited by December.
