In commemoration of Earth Day, celebrated on Tuesday (22), the Sustainability Commission of the Regional Public Hospital of Caetés (HRPC), in Capanema, held a special event on Wednesday (23) with the users of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Care Center (Natea Caetés).

The activity took place in the Sustainable Garden space of the hospital, where participants planted vegetables such as kale, green onions, and chicory. The initiative provided a moment of learning and connection with nature, reinforcing the importance of health care combined with environmental preservation and the encouragement of sustainability.

“Replanting our garden, with the participation of Natea users, was a very rewarding experience. It is a simple action, but full of meaning, as it not only promotes sustainability but also strengthens the bonds with nature and encourages collective care for the hospital's spaces. Seeing everyone's involvement and enthusiasm is what motivates us to continue promoting initiatives like this,” highlighted Alexandre Nunes, president of the HRPC Sustainability Commission.

For psychologist Hélida Tavares, the importance of the action was emphasized. “It is very important to include them. Actions like this provide an experience of something basic: how to deal with soil, seeds, which is very important for them, showing them where food comes from and that we need to take care of the earth.”

Morgana Aparecida Jubini de Lima Sillva, 36, mother of João Lucas Lima da Silva, 13, who has been in therapy at Natea for two years, both residents of the municipality of Capanema. The mother highlighted her satisfaction with the action in the HRPC garden. “It is very rewarding to see him plant, to have this interaction outside of therapy rooms, contact with nature. It was wonderful!”
