In just one day, Candiru Base inspection seizes nearly 13 kg of drugs
The drugs were seized from vessels coming from Manaus during a routine inspection last Wednesday, the 23rd

In yet another routine inspection during the river patrols in the river network of Óbidos, Lower Amazon, the integrated agents of the River Security Group (Gflu) operating at the Integrated Public Security River Base "Candiru", linked to the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), seized nearly 13 kg of drugs last Wednesday, the 23rd, from vessels coming from Manaus navigating the Amazon River.
This action is part of the routine inspections initiated by the security teams to combat crime and drug trafficking on the rivers of Pará. In a single day, the inspection actions seized 12.821 kg of drugs, as pointed out by the Secretary of Public Security of Pará, Ualame Machado.
"Our strategy is to maintain daily inspections of the rivers, both in the morning and afternoon, as well as at night, so that our river network is monitored and the largest number of vessels are inspected, so that we can contain drug trafficking, as well as other crimes that may use the waterways as routes. Thus, in just one day, our teams seized approximately 12.8 kg of drugs," said the head of Segup.

Approach and inspection - During the inspection on the last 23rd, the teams approached two vessels, the first being a ferry boat named "Golfinho do Norte", which was coming from the city of Manaus heading to the municipality of Monte Alegre, where with the help of the Military Police's sniffer dog, Isis, they identified, in the lining of one of the accommodations, a package containing 1.545 kg of marijuana. On the same vessel, the dog also identified, in the hold of the ferry, inside a speaker and a purifier, another 7 packages of narcotic material, containing 2.544 kg of marijuana and 2.375 kg of base cocaine substance.

In another approach, the agents inspected another ferry boat, the "São Bartolomeu V", originating from Manaus heading to the city of Santarém, where once again, the Gflu teams along with the military and civilian police operating at the Base, found in the bathroom of one of the decks, 06 packages of narcotics containing 3.040 kg of marijuana and 3.317 kg of cocaine.
