Fapespa launches new PPSUS call for proposals to promote health research in Pará
Public call, in partnership with Sespa, will finance projects aimed at the needs of the SUS and the training of researchers in the state
The Amazon Foundation for Support of Studies and Research of Pará (Fapespa) will launch, on May 8th, the notice No. 006/2025 of the Research for the SUS Program: Shared Management in Health (PPSUS). The ceremony will take place at 2 PM, at the Health Teaching and Training Center of Santa Casa do Pará, in Belém, and is open to researchers, managers, health professionals, and other interested parties.
Carried out in partnership with the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa), the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Health (Decit/MS), and CNPq, the program aims to support scientific and technological research projects that propose solutions to the main challenges of public health in the state.
Incentive to science with direct impact on the SUS
Aimed at PhD researchers with effective ties to non-profit scientific or higher education institutions, the notice prioritizes proposals that directly address the needs of the Unified Health System (SUS) in Pará. The selection will be based on technical criteria, social relevance, and feasibility of applying the results in the public health network.
The public call is the result of a collective construction, which involved managers, SUS professionals, representatives of civil society, and the scientific community, based on the identification of the most urgent health demands in the state. The goal is for the approved projects to result in products, processes, or innovative solutions with potential for implementation in primary, specialized, or hospital care of the SUS.
Qualified training and strengthening of state health policy
In addition to promoting research, the PPSUS also provides for the granting of Junior Post-Doctorate scholarships for approved projects, contributing to the training of highly qualified human resources in strategic areas of health.
The scientific director of Fapespa, Carina Silva, reinforces the strategic role of the program. “The PPSUS enables the approach between state health systems, science and technology, and the scientific community. This articulation strengthens state health policy and contributes to the training of professionals qualified to act in the most priority areas of the state,” she emphasizes.
