Government of Pará delivers another paved street and announces new works in the Parque Verde neighborhood, in Belém
In total, 11 streets in the neighborhood will receive infrastructure and urban mobility services, as part of the legacy of the COP30 event, which will take place in November in the capital of Pará.

The Government of Pará delivered, on the afternoon of this Wednesday (7), another paved street and announced new investments in paving works in Parque Verde, in Belém. In total, 11 streets in the neighborhood will receive infrastructure and urban mobility services, as part of the legacy of the COP30 event, which will take place in November in the capital of Pará.
"Today, we are delivering something that is very important for the community. It is an improvement in the lives of each family, each resident who now has a brand new asphalt road. You know better than anyone how important it is to have a paved street. This only adds more value to a neighborhood that is so important for Belém. It increases property values, as many people told me during the walk along the paved street. We will continue working to deliver other streets like Travessa das Angélicas," emphasized the Vice Governor of Pará, Hana Ghassan.

In Parque Verde, which will receive over 3.3 kilometers of new asphalt, Travessa das Angélicas has received asphalt paving, drainage, earthworks, sidewalks, curbs, and signage. In addition to this, 4 other streets have already been paved in the neighborhood, resulting from the partnership between the federal, state, and municipal governments.

"This joint effort is transforming the city of Belém. We work every day to offer more dignity to people; this is our mission. Many times, residents would buy an appliance and see it get ruined by rainwater. Now, the population is receiving more sanitation with these investments, and this is just the beginning," highlighted the mayor of Belém, Igor Normando.
The change in daily life with the paving has already been felt by gastrologist Rose Santos. A resident of Travessa das Angélicas, she recalls the problems caused by mud and celebrates the possibility of walking along the road with peace of mind, without fear of accidents.

"When it rained, it was sad to live here. We couldn't walk nicely without getting dirty. Access was difficult. A ride-hailing car, for example, couldn't get in. We are grateful because we waited many years for this. This improvement represents quality of life," said Rose Santos.
Housekeeper Ana Carvalho states that she waited 30 years for asphalt at her doorstep. She thanked the State Government for the investment in Travessa das Angélicas and the other surrounding streets that are also receiving paving.

"I remember that snakes and frogs would pass by my front door. We walked in the mud, and when we got home, it was straight to take a shower. I fell here once. When my husband came to check, I was inside the hole. Now I can play at my front door with my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thank you very much, Helder and Hana, for the work done here on our street."
Of the 11 streets that will receive asphalt in Parque Verde, 5 have already been fully paved: Alameda Santa Vitória, Rua das Acácias, Rua das Margaridas, Rua Paracuri, and Travessa das Angélicas.

New works - Another 6 streets in Parque Verde will receive asphalt paving services through the State Department of Public Works (Seop): Alameda da Paz, Passagem Astronauta II, Passagem dos Anjos, Rua Andreza, Rua Tayo Costa, and Alameda Santa Brigida.
Resident of Passagem dos Anjos, security guard Mauro Pinheiro believes that the arrival of asphalt will provide more quality of life. "It will mean more sanitation for the population. We have waited for this for many years. The biggest inconvenience is during the winter rains, which bring a lot of suffering, especially for children, the elderly, and wheelchair users. We are already happy to see the machines and workers. It is a relief, a sign of happiness," highlighted Mauro.
The investment of the "Asphalt COP30" by the State Government, in partnership with the Federal Government, through Itaipu Binacional, is R$ 231,046,092.15. In total, 326 streets will benefit, distributed across more than 35 neighborhoods and districts of Belém, totaling 102.14 kilometers of works.

"Investments in asphalt works transform people's daily lives. The arrival of asphalt paving represents quality of life for the population, who gain more dignity with the end of mud and dust. Just like other neighborhoods, Parque Verde will continue to receive the attention of the Government of Pará in services that provide more infrastructure and urban mobility," emphasizes Ruy Cabral, Secretary of State for Public Works.
