Staff from the ParáPaz Foundation participated, this Thursday (8), in a training session at the Santa Casa auditorium in Belém. In reference to Orange May, the meeting featured the project "Stolen Innocence," led by Judge Deomar Barroso from the Metropolitan Region of Belém's Criminal Execution Court. The project, created by the judge himself, aims to help teachers and other professionals identify signs of sexual violence in children and adolescents.

"This training is essential. If you don't have information, how will you know how to act? It is important to train and empower these people because often they are afraid to act and do it wrong. But we need to provide the path and say: 'Do the right thing, save a life, be a hero in that person's life,' even if they don't understand, but we need to do the right thing," emphasized Judge Deomar.

For Yasmim Lopes, a nursing technician, the training was a moment of learning.
"As a professional working in this area of support, I often didn't know how to deal with these situations. The first impact is shocking, but we learn that it's not just about us, it's about the child. We need to take care of ourselves to strengthen our work in our daily lives," explained Yasmim.

Support - The ParáPaz Foundation has a structured support network to welcome victims of violence. At the Integrated Center with Santa Casa, the service is aimed at children and adolescents who are victims of sexual violence. At the unit integrated with the Scientific Police of Pará, victims of physical, psychological, and sexual violence, as well as cases of neglect and mistreatment, are attended to.

"Training is essential for our professionals to know how to handle such delicate situations. At the ParáPaz Foundation, our commitment is to ensure that each victim receives the necessary support," emphasized Alberto Teixeira, the institution's manager.

Orange May - The training is part of the Orange May campaign, a national awareness movement about the different types of violence, abuse, and sexual exploitation against children and adolescents, as well as encouraging reporting. The mobilization takes place on May 18, when the National Day for Combating the Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents is celebrated.
