Fairy tales and stories about mothers premiere at 'Schivasappa' and 'Waldemar Henrique'
Performances take the stage this weekend, on May 10 and 11

The Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP) announces that the story of Princess Cinderella and that of real women living in prison will be staged at the theaters Margarida Schivasappa and Waldemar Henrique on May 10 and 11, respectively.
On Saturday, the 10th, the Margarida Schivasappa Theater will host a dance and theater performance that tells the story of Cinderella, a young orphan who suffers at the hands of her stepmother and sisters. The performance involves students from the classical ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary dance courses at Ballare Dance School. The presentation starts at 7:30 PM and is free for all audiences. Tickets are being sold directly at the dance school.
The performance presents a sensitive and gentle adaptation of the tale, where cruelty meets a milder version compared to that of 1950. It incorporates various dance styles, such as: classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap. Composed of a completely Pará-based cast, the play features artists like Gabrielle Morbach, Elloy Silva, among others.

On Sunday, the 11th, the Waldemar Henrique Experimental Theater will host the monologue “Parto Pavilhão,” starring artist Aysha Nascimento, directed by Naruna Costa and written by Jhonny Salaberg. The performance is inspired by a true story that occurred in 2009 at the Butantã Penitentiary Progress Center (CPP), when mothers escaped with their children in their arms through the front door of the penitentiary. The performance follows the escape, the genocide of the black population, and the survival of these women.
“Parto Pavilhão” presents the perspective of Rose, a former nursing technician and inmate of a provisional penitentiary for mothers, expressing the experiences of a woman, a mother, and the secrets of these experiences, gaining the trust of everyone in the pavilion. The performance will feature accessibility in Libras. Tickets can be picked up one hour in advance. With a rating of 14 years, entry is free with the donation of 1 kg of non-perishable food that will be donated to the Sesc Mesa Brasil program.
