The Experimental Waldemar Henrique theater will host the theatrical performance "Minha Cara Vera" this Friday, 16, at 7:30 PM, inspired loosely by the book "Ainda Estou Aqui" by Marcelo Rubens Paiva. The age rating is 14 years. Tickets cost twenty reais and can be purchased through digital ticket office.

"Minha Cara Vera" is presented by the Terceiro Sino company, which proposes an interactive staging, where the audience's presence is called upon to establish direct connections with the narrative. The performance features the exchange of letters between Eunice and Vera Paiva at the moment when Vera is in London and her family is in Brazil during the military dictatorship.

The dramaturgy is adapted from the events narrated in the book "Ainda Estou Aqui", which became a success in 2024, and explores historical moments in a sensitive and delicate manner. Utilizing naturalistic, bodily, and sensitive techniques.

In the free adaptation of "Ainda Estou Aqui", the Terceiro Sino company tells the story of the Paiva family in a different way: the exchange of letters between Eunice Paiva and Vera Paiva unravels the tragic fate of the family amidst the military dictatorship.

"Cinema has told this story in one way, but theater is the art of the now, of eye to eye, of the human dimension. We created this performance to bring the audience closer to this narrative; our aim is to bring impact and sensitivity to those watching," highlights Diana Albuquerque, producer of the performance.

The plot works with the central family nucleus and the experiences with censorship, affections, and the inexplicable absence left behind. The resistance, the search for answers, the distance, and the abyss after the disappearance of Rubens Paiva, carried out by the military dictatorship, marks the narrative present on stage.

"Minha cara Vera" invites the audience to a sensitive and intimate performance of a family like many others marked by the dictatorship and highlights how the act of resistance becomes crucial in difficult moments.
