State delivers the 13th Usina da Paz in Pará, in Benevides
The new UsiPaz will offer more than 70 free services and state-of-the-art equipment, with structured spaces aimed at carrying out activities in education, culture, sports, social assistance, professional training, and services in health and citizenship.
The State Government delivered, this Friday (16), the new Usina da Paz in the municipality of Benevides, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The 13th unit of the largest social transformation project in Latin America arrived accompanied by a festive morning, which brought the community together to celebrate the new state complex that will transform the lives of thousands of residents in the region.
"I am very happy to deliver another Usina da Paz on the eve of my birthday. This is the largest program of social transformation, citizenship, and public safety in Latin America and is now in Benevides, so that we can, in partnership with the city hall, change the reality of this community. Starting next Monday, we will be opening the doors to guarantee opportunities, quality of life, and social justice. This experience, wherever it goes, has been transformative and now arrives to produce peace, quality of life, protection, and care for the population of Benevides, Benfica, Murinin, and Santa Maria," declared Governor Helder Barbalho.
The Vice Governor of Pará, Hana Ghassan, highlighted her satisfaction with the delivery of the new UsiPaz.
"I am very happy to deliver this new Usina da Paz, which, in addition to being a beautiful building with a pool, library, and sports courts, is an important place to transform the lives of thousands of families. Here, no one pays anything. There are more than 70 free services, so that the population can come here and do what they want. I congratulate everyone who makes this project a reference," emphasized Vice Governor Hana.
The mayor of the municipality of Benevides, Luziane Solon, spoke about the changes brought by the arrival of the Usina da Paz in Benevides. "This was a space with many difficulties, a place that needed improvements and an important work like this. We are here today for the delivery of this Usina da Paz that will make a difference in the lives of people, residents of the headquarters of Benevides, but also of Benfica, Murinin, and Santa Maria," said the municipal manager.
State-of-the-art structure - Located on Avenida Martinho Monteiro, in the Murinin district, the new UsiPaz Benevides will offer more than 70 free services and state-of-the-art equipment, with structured spaces aimed at carrying out activities in education, culture, sports, social assistance, professional training, and services in health and citizenship.
Like the other Usinas already delivered, the facility will also offer a modern and functional structure, with rooms equipped for medical and dental services, document issuance, vocational courses, social assistance, as well as other spaces like a multi-sports gym, pool, open court, multicultural space, among others.
Benefits for the population - For the residents of Benevides, the arrival of the Usina da Paz represents a new time, as stated by resident Ana Cláudia Silva from the Murinin district.
"For a long time, we have heard about the Usina da Paz, so it is very important to see that this project has arrived here in our municipality and will benefit many people, including those who need services in health, sports, and especially education. I am very grateful for the arrival of the Usina da Paz.
The education technician and resident of Benevides, Álvaro Pereira, reinforced the importance of the new Usina da Paz for the youth of the municipality.
"This new Usina is very important for our youth, especially to rescue those who live in vulnerable situations, with activities in culture, education, and sports. We are very happy," he pointed out.
Resident Manuela Silva emphasized that "the Usina da Paz is very important for our municipality. Before, we did not have a place like this, with so many services, and the Government has gifted us with this wonderful Usina. We have never had such a welcome as we are having now."
Usinas da Paz - The Usinas da Paz are citizenship complexes implemented by the State Government to promote social inclusion, reduce violence, and improve the quality of life of the population in vulnerable areas of the State.
The project is part of the Territories for Peace program (TerPaz). Since 2021, with the delivery of the first Usina da Paz, the citizenship complexes have already guaranteed more than 9.3 million services.
In addition to the new Usina da Paz in Benevides, 12 other units are already in full operation in Belém (Jurunas/Condor, Guamá, Terra Firme, Bengui, and Cabanagem); in the municipalities of Ananindeua, Marituba, and Castanhal, in the Metropolitan Region; Abaetetuba, in the Lower Tocantins, and Marabá, Parauapebas, and Canaã dos Carajás, in southeastern Pará.
Only in 2025, the State has already delivered the Usinas da Paz in Benevides, Castanhal, Marabá, and Abaetetuba, directly benefiting more than 684,000 people in the four cities.
More Usinas - Another 24 new UsiPaz are under construction in the cities of Altamira, Bragança, Cametá, Paragominas, Tucuruí, Santa Izabel do Pará, Capanema, Redenção, Itaituba, Santarém, Viseu, Igarapé-Miri, Barcarena, Breves, Dom Eliseu, São Miguel do Guamá, Portel, Moju, Parauapebas (second Usina), Óbidos, Salinópolis, Tomé-Açu, São Félix do Xingu, and Belém, in the Icoaraci district.
Service - Next Monday (19), starting at 8 am, the new citizenship complex in Benevides will be open to welcome the community and begin registrations for the available courses and activities. The Usina da Paz is located at Avenida Martinho Monteiro, No. 767, in Paraíso do Murinim, Benevides.
