Starting this Sunday (18), the public visiting the museums and memorials linked to the State Secretariat of Culture of Pará (Secult) will be able to purchase books published by the secretariat over the past few years. This action is part of a cultural dissemination policy aimed at democratizing access to Secult's editorial collection, which consists of nearly 60 titles, of which 15 were released during the current administration, between 2019 and 2024.

The sale of the books represents a new stage of the initiative that, last week, benefited institutions such as the Historical and Geographical Institute of Pará (IHGP) and the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), with the donation of copies for their collections. Now, the publications will be within reach of any citizen who wishes to learn more about the heritage, literature, and great names of Pará's culture.

Among the available titles are works by authors such as Edyr Augusto Proença, Dona Onete, and Juraci Siqueira, as well as books dedicated to poetry, biographies, children's and youth literature, and studies on the state's cultural assets.

The books will be on sale at locations such as the Museum of the State of Pará (MEP), the Cultural Space Casa das Onze Janelas, the Museum of Sacred Art (MAS), and the Theatro da Paz.

“This is a symbolic moment for the secretariat. Making our books available to the public in museums and memorials is a way to make accessible a collection that carries the diversity and richness of Pará's culture. We want these works to find new readers, circulate in homes and schools, and contribute to strengthening the cultural identity of our people,” said the Acting Secretary of Culture, Bruno Chagas.
