Oriximiná Regional Hospital conducts health action in the municipality of Óbidos
The initiative aimed to reduce the waiting list for elective surgeries. Patients left with their consultations and procedures scheduled.
The Oriximiná Menino Jesus Regional Hospital (HRMJ) held a health action in the municipality of Óbidos on Saturday (17), in partnership with the local Municipal Health Department. The initiative aimed to reduce the waiting list for elective surgeries in the region, providing medical care, nursing triage, and pre-operative evaluations to the population.
During the action, patients registered by the Óbidos Health Department underwent triage with blood pressure checks, oximetry, capillary blood glucose, temperature measurement, weight, height, and received specialized medical evaluation. Those deemed fit left with their surgery dates or consultations scheduled at HRMJ.
The municipal health secretary of Óbidos, Valéria Lacerda, highlighted the importance of the initiative. “The population responded to the call, patients who were on the waiting list for surgery came and left with a scheduled date. The action was well received by the Óbidos community,” she stated.
Retiree Helenita da Silva Soares, 64, managed to schedule a gynecological surgery. “I am happy. They called me to schedule the appointment and said my surgery would be at the Oriximiná Regional Hospital. I left the appointment with the date set. Everything went well,” she celebrated.
Another case attended was that of Mrs. Marileide dos Santos, 54. “I am very satisfied. Next month, I will have a consultation with a gynecologist at the Oriximiná regional hospital,” she reported.
Doctor Ana Rita, who participated in the action, explained that most of the demand was related to general and gynecological surgeries. “We had many cases of inguinal hernia, the need for hernioplasty, and various surgeries in women. The action was essential to meet these needs and to reduce the waiting list for Treatment Outside the Home (TFD), so I believe that more actions like this will be necessary in the future,” she stated.
The initiative is part of a joint effort to expedite the flow of patients from the Unified Health System (SUS) who are awaiting procedures through the Treatment Outside the Home (TFD) program.
