With a focus on the future of education, the Acy de Jesus Barros Pereira State School in Barcarena received essential support through the Paraense Money in School Program (Prodep). The investment of approximately R$ 184.3 thousand allowed for the acquisition of pedagogical materials, administrative supplies, and kitchen utensils, contributing to making the school an even more welcoming, functional, and inspiring space for students, teachers, and the entire school community.

The school invested in new equipment to enhance its infrastructure and provide a more modern and efficient environment for students and teachers. Among the acquisitions, a printer stands out, ensuring high-quality prints with savings, facilitating administrative and pedagogical activities. Additionally, a multimedia projector was acquired, providing better visibility and clarity in projected images.

“Prodep transformed the school. With the resources, technology equipment, pedagogical materials, and management support were acquired. The kitchen was equipped, solving the storage of snacks. Security was enhanced with cameras, and environmental actions were expanded. School meals improved with the purchase of fresh produce. The program ensured autonomy for investments according to the school's needs,” said Michele Monteiro, the unit's director.

For classes and entertainment activities, the school also now has a 50-inch smart TV, which will facilitate the use of multimedia resources. A UPS was also added, ensuring the continuity of activities even during power outages.

The audio section was also addressed, with the acquisition of speakers, one of which came with two microphones, allowing teachers and students to express themselves clearly in large environments.

“Things have improved a lot here at school. Now we have a good speaker, as well as audio and video equipment, cameras, and other important resources for security. The program made a big difference because now we can work with media projects, providing more interaction and information among students,” says Anderson Nogueira, a 2nd-year high school student.

The same sentiment is shared by Thalyson Raynan, also a 2nd-year high school student. “As a student, I see that the school is using the resources from the initiative in a way that positively impacts our daily lives, contributing to our development,” he stated.

In the kitchen, investments were also made: an industrial stove with an oven, capable of meeting the needs for large-scale meal preparation, and a horizontal freezer, ideal for the proper storage of food. Another significant investment was an industrial blender, which will facilitate food production. These acquisitions reinforce the commitment to the quality of education and the well-being of everyone involved in the school community.

“In this context, it is evident how the resources from Prodep were essential to transform the reality of our school. The funds were managed democratically and responsibly. There were surpluses, mainly because we were operating in a rented building and there was an expectation of moving to a new school, which could require additional expenses. The surpluses from the 2024 funds were reprogrammed and are being used appropriately,” concludes Janilma Moreira, the unit's pedagogue.

About Prodep - Created in 2023, the Paraense Money in School program seeks to offer greater autonomy for school management in making investments according to the specific needs of each unit. The initiative includes small construction works and renovations, improvement of physical and pedagogical infrastructure, ongoing maintenance, environmental sustainability, climate control of classrooms, as well as the acquisition of technological equipment and school meals.

Since its implementation, the program has already totaled an investment of over R$137 million for improving the school environment of state schools throughout Pará.
