Seduc concludes ‘Caravana Saeb’ focusing on improving education in Western Pará
The initiative traveled through the regional education directorates in Santarém, Monte Alegre, and Óbidos, preparing schools to enhance student performance

The State Department of Education (Seduc) concluded, on Thursday (22), the ‘Caravana Saeb’, held in the municipalities of Santarém, Monte Alegre, and Óbidos, in the western region of Pará. The action aims to strengthen state education networks in preparation for the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb) 2025, focusing on improving students' academic results.
“We are conducting the ‘Caravana Saeb 2025’ throughout Pará, one of the strategies of the State Government, through the Department of Education. We have completed the stage in the Western region, promoting ongoing training for school directors and teams from the regional directorates. These actions allow us to act directly in the territories, listening to the demands of each DRE and building, together, strategies to improve education in Pará, aligned with the strategic planning for Saeb 2025,” said Júlio Meireles, Deputy Secretary of Basic Education.

With the presence of leaders and school managers from 14 municipalities belonging to the Regional Education Directorates (DREs) of Santarém, Monte Alegre, and Óbidos, the Caravana promoted the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of pedagogical strategies, bringing together professionals committed to the quality of education in the region.
“It is always an honor to receive the Seduc team at our school. The Saeb Caravana was extremely valuable, bringing important clarifications, especially for me, in school management. I am sure it was also relevant for the other directors of DRE Óbidos. I feel deeply grateful for the visit, for the humility in coming to this very distant region of Pará, and for the sharing of such significant knowledge,” thanks Daniel Menezes Bentes, director of the Prof. Maurício Hamoy State School.

The initiative worked in a personalized manner in preparing managers, with the aim that, once qualified, they can act as references in the teaching-learning process. In addition, it strengthened educational leadership in each of the schools distributed throughout the state of Pará, promoting an action aligned with local needs and committed to the quality of education.
“We thank the Caravana that was with us here in Monte Alegre, bringing knowledge, sharing ideas and good practices. This exchange strengthens us and prepares us to advance even further in the 2025 assessment. With this, education gains substance, gains life, and places at the center of the educational process what really matters: the learning of our students,” highlights Jaime Teles, regional education leader of Monte Alegre.

For Bárbara Oliveira, pedagogical coordinator of DRE Monte Alegre, the moment was “spectacular, inspiring, and motivating, driving us to advance with even more determination towards the Basic Education Assessment System. We believe that DRE Monte Alegre will be the region that grows the most in this edition, and we are fully committed to this goal.”
Throughout an intense schedule of activities, participants dedicated themselves to analyzing educational indicators, sharing successful pedagogical practices from various schools, and discussing educational management strategies. With the stage in western Pará completed, the Caravana Saeb continues to mobilize other municipalities in the state, reaffirming the commitment of the Department of Education to the continuous improvement of education in the 144 municipalities.
