State Government carries out action against ableism for students of the state network
The program included a lecture aimed at the institution's students, with guidance on the different ways to identify common ableist expressions in everyday life, as well as the importance of reverberating respect for differences.

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, Labor, Employment and Income (Seaster), carried out an action against ableism this Friday (23) at the Cordeiro de Farias State School of Elementary and Secondary Education in Belém.
This initiative is part of the campaign launched this year, aimed at raising awareness among different audiences about the importance of combating prejudiced speech, attitudes, and behaviors against people with disabilities.
The program included a lecture aimed at the institution's students, with guidance on the different ways to identify common ableist expressions in everyday life, as well as the importance of reverberating respect for differences.
“These moments of conversation are fundamental to changing attitudes and expanding respect. The school is an essential space for this dialogue because it contributes to the formation of conscious citizens committed to inclusion,” highlighted Silvana Silva, manager of the Integrated Center for Inclusion and Citizenship (CIIC).
“It is very important to bring this debate into the school. Our students need to understand that prejudiced attitudes, even disguised as jokes or common speech, should not be normalized,” said Tricia Amoras Alves, the school's principal.

For student Fernanda Figueiredo, 15, the lecture was a moment of learning. “I really liked the lecture because I learned things I didn't know. There are words and jokes that we use without thinking and that can be offensive. I want to take this to my family and my friends, so we can learn to respect more,” said the student.
The State Government, through Seaster, manages the CIIC, a space that offers services and actions aimed at people with disabilities.
At the CIIC, the population also finds free services, such as the Pará Sign Language Interpretation Center (Cilpa), which provides support to non-verbal individuals in the capital and the countryside, as well as services in the areas of health, housing, psychosocial support, and a post of the National Employment System (Sine).
The CIIC is located at Avenida Almirante Barroso, No. 1765, between Travessas Angustura and Barão do Triunfo, in the Marco neighborhood, in Belém.
