Project 'Health Talk' encourages care and information at the Women's Hospital of Pará
The work is promoted by the multiprofessional team of the hospital unit
Between registration at the reception and the call for the medical consultation, patients at the Women's Hospital of Pará (HMPA) receive guidance in the lecture circuit of the 'Health Talk' project with specialist professionals in nutrition, physiotherapy, and psychology. The proposal was designed to clarify to women the importance of follow-up with a multiprofessional team, promoting comprehensive care for women's needs.
The nutrition supervisor at the Women's Hospital of Pará (HMPA), Marcela Maira, explains that the actions are conducted with accessible language and a focus on health promotion. In addition to clarifying doubts, the project reinforces the importance of educational work as a way to empower patients, making them participative in their own care.
“We seek to expand knowledge about the services provided at the hospital unit for patients or companions who attend scheduled consultations, showing the importance of each professional in their area, in this case, psychology, physiotherapy, and nutrition in an informative and educational way to combat misinformation about the prevention of comorbidities, pre and post-operative care, which is our focus in the outpatient clinic, and to bring this awareness even to the population, forming a continuous education,” highlighted the nutritionist.
The 'Health Talk' also humanizes care and strengthens the bond between professionals and users, contributing to a more welcoming and effective assistance.
In a follow-up consultation after gallbladder stone removal, patient Rosana Costa, 41, intends to follow up with a nutritionist at the hospital.
“I consider this information super important because we know that many diseases are caused by poor nutrition and lack of physical exercise, but often we do not find such comprehensive health care, and it was good to know that here we have this opportunity to consult with these professionals as well to have the correct guidance,” said the patient.
