The State Government delivered new equipment to enhance and strengthen Public Security actions in Pará this Tuesday (3), at the Boulevard das Feiras, in Estação das Docas, Belém. Among the equipment delivered by Governor Helder Barbalho are submachine guns, bomb suits, briefcases for fingerprint and crime scene investigations, portable X-ray machines, optical magnifiers, lasers, and a police vehicle.

At the event, the head of the state executive emphasized that today, another step in structuring and strengthening the public security system in Pará was taken through the new investments made, starting with the delivery of 400 submachine guns, which will be immediately available for field use.

"From today's deliveries, we will strengthen the actions of the Civil Police of our state, including focusing on the specialized group, the team that directly confronts, not only investigatively, but directly against crime in Pará. Therefore, it is very important that we are well equipped to combat crime. In addition, today we strengthened actions linked to our scientific police with equipment for forensic analysis," highlighted Helder Barbalho.

According to the governor, two important bomb suits were also delivered.

"Today we also delivered bomb suits, which are very important, as the State is structuring itself for international events, and this reinforces the strategy to combat in this regard, this specificity of security equipment, through modern equipment that arrives to strengthen this infrastructure."

The governor also delivered a vehicle, which, according to him, "is very symbolic within the actions being taken by the Civil Police of Pará."

"In addition to the equipment, we are delivering a vehicle, a vehicle that was seized from an operation by the Civil Police against illegal bets and was the result of gambling that harmed people, harmed families, harmed society. Thus, from the robust investigation of the Civil Police of Pará and by decision of the Justice, this asset, which was until then being used by the leader of this irregular bet, now serves the state as an official vehicle, demonstrating that Pará combats crime and financially disbands criminal associations, dismantling and ensuring that the proceeds from crime are used for the benefit of society, contributing to the ongoing fight against crime. Therefore, congratulations to our Civil Police, congratulations to the Military Police and the Scientific Police, to the Fire Department and to the entire system led by Segup," said the head of the state executive.

The investment resources exceed R$ 6 million, coming from the state treasury and from State and Federal Public Security Investment Funds. The Civil, Military, and Scientific Police will be equipped with the new equipment, strengthening the activities and actions carried out in the state.

The Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, emphasized the important delivery for the state, among several made over the first five months of 2025.

"We have made significant deliveries, not only investments in equipment but also in intelligence and training. In addition, today we delivered equipment such as bomb suits so that our BOPE from the Military Police can operate in major events, in delicate situations. We are further strengthening the recently created Tourist Police Station by delivering a new vehicle to better address occurrences involving tourists. And also forensic equipment that will further improve the effectiveness of our actions and investigations, ensuring better service to the population," said the head of Segup.

Armament - At the delivery event, the Civil Police received 400 MPX submachine guns caliber 9x19MM, from the brand Sig Sauer, acquired through international contracting and which will be used in the actions of the Civil Police in combating crime. The armaments are budgeted at R$ 4,704,000.00 from the Public Security Investment Fund (Fisp), linked to Segup. The Civil Police also received a new vehicle that will reinforce actions at the Tourist Police Station, delivered in May, and two fingerprinting briefcases.

"We received a very important acquisition, modern and highly precise armaments, briefcases for the work of fingerprinting that is developed during investigations, where there is a need to detect the presence of fingerprint material for comparison with a suspect. And today we also received a BMW vehicle seized by Justice through the Civil Police and made available to the institution for the work of the Tourist Police Station. This seizure and the conversion of the asset by justice demonstrate to society that the police do not stop combating crime and that what was used for evil will be used for good, strengthening the work that has been done over the years," stated the General Delegate of the Civil Police, Benassuly.

Bomb Suits - The Military Police received two bomb suits to equip the military in technical use, ensuring safety and efficiency for the military police in preventive work in case of a threat of detonation of an explosive device. In addition to a portable X-ray machine (Berkana), an investment of R$ 538,773.33, and also 100 units of optical magnifiers and 20 lasers valued at over R$ 440,000.00.

"Today we had significant deliveries for public security, with the Military Police also being contemplated. For the PM, the investments amount to nearly R$ 2 million, including two bomb suits and also equipment that will enable better performance of our elite troops, with night vision goggles, holographic laser sights, which will certainly provide a much better operational capability than we have today. We thank the Governor and the Secretary of Public Security for all the investment that has been made in our corporation, which has brought results that we can see in the reduction of crime since January 2019," said the commander-general of the Military Police, Cel PM Dilson Júnior.

Forensics in Pará - The Scientific Police of Pará received two briefcases for crime scene investigation, which will assist and enhance the work of forensic experts. The equipment is valued at R$ 60,269.26.

Tools were delivered that will assist the expert in performing their work, especially in property forensics, aiming at the preservation of both the crime scene and the evidence. The briefcases consist of indicators, magnifying glasses, among other equipment that will be used to facilitate the work of the experts in the field, contributing to a more technical-scientific and not empirical work. Thus, each expert who will conduct their investigations will have this equipment that will facilitate the elucidation of crimes.

Over the years, the Scientific Police, like other security forces, has been receiving investments. Each year, PCEPA has been gaining equipment, not only for external use, for the external phases of forensics, like the briefcases, but also laboratory equipment for drug detection, toxicological examinations, among others.
