The colors of São João come to life on the stage of Curro Velho, starting next Friday (6)
The Auto Junino of Curro Velho is part of the agenda of the Arraial de Todos os Santos. This year, the show will be presented from June 6 to 8.

The presentations of the Auto Junino of Curro Velho begin next Friday, 6, and continue until Sunday, 8. In addition to the theatrical performance, there will be musical group presentations, sales of typical foods, and a creative economy fair. The program starts at 5 PM, is free, and is part of the agenda of the Arraial de Todos os Santos, promoted by the State Government through the Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP).
This year, the theme of the auto is "The Colors of São João." The show is the result of a training process that began in April, with artistic workshops in the areas of theater, dance, and music. More than 200 people, including children and adolescents, are part of the cast.

“The auto junino is, in addition to a tradition of our State, a celebration of the end of another cycle of artistic initiation workshops that the Cultural Foundation of Pará regularly and freely offers to the community through the Curro Velho nucleus. Moreover, the three days of presentations are an opportunity to value the culture of our State and present our stories to those who do not yet know them,” highlights the president of the Cultural Foundation of Pará, Thiago Miranda.
One of the novelties this year is the participation of students practicing inclusive dance at Curro Velho. “This year, in addition to the regular artistic initiation classes, we will have the debut of the inclusive dance class, and the expectation for this moment is the best possible. The children are very excited and well-rehearsed. We have a considerable number of participants in the show, which generates great expectations both from them and from the production. We hope everyone can appreciate this beautiful work,” says Jorge Cunha, coordinator of Artistic Initiation at Curro Velho.

Social inclusion is also present in the text to be staged, which this year was written by the professor of the Music Faculty of UFPA, José Maria Bezerra, who has been writing scripts and composing music for artistic initiation for 20 years.
He explains that the text of the play seeks to highlight the care for the place where we live and inhabit, in a play with participants of various age groups, people with disabilities (PCDs), parents, and guardians in a collective production.

“The show is simple and humble, and it is very beautiful. It is being made in a record time of just one month of work, and I am happy to be with a team of competent instructors and with children and young people committed to the best result,” reveals Professor José Maria.
