The Hospital da Mulher do Pará (HMPA), in Belém, held a drive for ultrasound exams that are part of the women's check-up this weekend. The initiative aims to expedite the diagnosis for patients and on the 7th and 8th, reached the number of 100 women from the region in this first edition, coordinated by the team from the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support Service (SADT) of the hospital.

According to the general director of HMPA, intensivist doctor Nelma Machado, the action will have a new edition later this month. “With the aim of continuing to serve women in our outpatient clinic, we decided to hold the drive over the weekend to ensure access for 200 registered patients to undergo these exams. In this first drive, there were 100 women,” highlighted the manager.

During the action, various types of ultrasounds were performed, primarily focusing on gynecological exams, including transvaginal, breast, and abdominal ultrasounds. Nazaré de Moraes, a 50-year-old resident of the Terra Firme neighborhood, was one of the patients attended during the drive.

“I came to do the thyroid ultrasound and the transvaginal ultrasound. For me, the hospital is of utmost importance. There are many women in need, and here we were gifted; everything is here, there’s no need to go to other places. Another thing, the professionals see beyond their area. For example, I came with a gynecologist; she could have specified only her area. But when I mentioned the thyroid, she requested the exam to refer me to an endocrinologist. So there is all this care; the hospital deserves congratulations for continuing to provide this assistance to many women in need,” reported Nazaré.

Another patient attended was Daniela Serrão, 42 years old, a resident of the Jurunas neighborhood. She also praised the initiative and highlighted the support received during the exam. “I had been waiting for seven months to be called at the clinic until I was referred for a consultation with the doctor, who ordered the exams, and now I am in the process of surgery. The professionals are a 10 out of 10; I have nothing to complain about, I was well attended, and even doing this transvaginal ultrasound, I felt calm; the doctor explained everything that would be done, and that is very important,” she emphasized.

Resident of Ananindeua, in the Águas Lindas neighborhood, housewife Rosane Cardoso, 56 years old, left happy with the service. “I came through an initiative. Some exams that I needed were requested, and then I was referred to the Hospital da Mulher. I have already had a consultation and have done the transvaginal ultrasound, and I am finding it very good,” she evaluated.

Cele Estela Rocha, 40 years old, attended the drive and also expressed satisfaction with the service. “I found this service to be great because we are being well assisted. It was what we needed. I have been neglecting my health for two years because I had a small child; now I am doing my check-up, and everything here was much faster,” concluded the patient.
