The State Secretariat for Environment, Climate and Sustainability of Pará (Semas) has completed another stage of service for analysis, validation, and delivery of Rural Environmental Registration (CAR) in the municipalities of Concórdia do Pará, Tomé-Açu, and Acará, located in northeastern Pará. The collective effort, carried out under the Regulariza Pará Program, facilitates rural producers' access to environmental regularization of rural properties, so that each producer can carry out economic activities safely and legally. Those with regularized CAR have the right to participate in projects and benefits, such as credit lines. In total, 110 validated registrations were delivered.

The joint actions benefited 453 rural properties, comprising 117 men and 33 women in Tomé-Açu, 171 men and 122 women in the municipality of Acará, and 94 men and 64 women in Concórdia do Pará. Altogether, the collective efforts covered an area with a positive impact of over 20,438.8973 hectares.

"We carried out integrated work with Emater, City Halls, and the Federal Government's Floresta+ Program. In this way, we delivered environmental regularization with rural technical assistance with personalized service for family farming. The action is highly effective with reduced costs and bureaucracies for farmers, as the direct presence with small rural property owners facilitates the necessary steps for CAR validation, allows registration in payment for environmental services programs, and disseminates guidelines on vegetation conservation in riparian forests and permanent preservation areas, essential for biodiversity and the quality of soil and water," explains Rodolpho Zahluth Bastos, deputy secretary of Semas.

Tomé-Açu: In the municipality, the program took place on June 2 and 3. During the collective effort, 141 properties were attended, directly benefiting 117 men and 33 women, representing an impact on an approximate area of 10,341.60 hectares. During the action, 45 validated registrations were delivered, resulting in the regularization of 2,862.36 hectares in the state.

Diogo Teruhiko Artner Yosshimura, a rural producer from Tomé-Açu, was awarded the CAR validation certificate.

"I am here to receive the validation certificate of my CAR, together with the State Government. This is a very important document, as it certifies that I am operating with environmental regularity and that my property is suitable from an environmental point of view. Currently, this is essential. We work correctly, sustainably, always seeking to preserve the environment," said the beneficiary.

Acará: The services also benefited producers in the Acará territory, from June 4 to 5. The action verified 201 properties, directly benefiting 171 men and 122 women, with an impact on an approximate area of 6,773.29 hectares. During the activity, 52 validated registrations were delivered, regularizing 2,407.44 hectares in the State of Pará.

The collective effort regularized the property of açaí producer, Djanete Maria dos Santos, who also clarified doubts and highlighted the importance of the action for producers.

"I came in search of information to regularize my CAR. I have a rural property and this project is very important because many farmers own their land, but unfortunately, they still do not have the CAR or have not regularized it yet. With this, the State Government, in partnership with the municipality, brought this project. I was very well attended, I have already managed to regularize my CAR, and now I just have to wait for the response," she highlighted.

Concórdia do Pará: The initiative covered 111 rural properties, directly benefiting 94 men and 65 women, with an impact on an approximate area of 3,324.0073 hectares. During the action, 13 registrations were delivered, regularizing about 759.3303 hectares in the state territory.

The rural producer of açaí, cocoa, and fruit pulp, José Roberto Conceição Paz, received his regularized CAR and can now access the program's benefits.

"I am very happy to be receiving my Rural Environmental Registration (CAR) today, which is one of the essential documents for us to access the benefits of the Federal Government. I thank Semas very much, which came from Belém to help in this great collective effort and in delivering our documents," commented the producer.

The activities were supported by the city halls, the Municipal Secretariats of Agriculture, and the Municipal Secretariats of Environment (Semma) of both municipalities. The actions also had the support of the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of Pará (Emater).

Floresta + Amazônia: In addition to regularization, during the collective effort, producers also received assistance regarding the Floresta + Amazônia project, from the federal government, which offers financial incentives to small rural producers through Payment for Environmental Services (PSA). The initiative benefits family farmers at different stages of regularization in the Rural Environmental Registration, covering the municipalities participating in Phases 1 and 2 of the program.

Registrations for Floresta+ Amazônia are open until June 30, 2025. Interested parties can access the notice and obtain more information through the link.
