Arraial de Todos os Santos 2025 highlights the tradition of the Junina Quadrilha Contest
Talented children and adults put on a show of choreography, costumes, and creativity in the program promoted by the Cultural Foundation of Pará

Sunday (15) was a day of celebration of popular culture from Pará on the third day of the Arraial de Todos os Santos 2025, held by the Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP) at the Centur building in the Nazaré neighborhood of Belém.
The event has been bringing together Junina groups from various municipalities in Pará, and on Sunday, it featured performances from the mirim and adult quadrilhas, as well as presentations of traditional folguedos and Junina birds, reaffirming the strength of São João traditions in the heart of the Amazon.
The program started at 6 PM on Sunday. The mirim quadrilha Flor de Algodão from the city of Abaetetuba was the first to perform, bringing a light and fun performance marked by colorful costumes and well-coordinated choreography.

Shortly after, at 6:35 PM, it was the turn of Romeiros Juninos from Soure, who presented themselves to the audience in typical costumes and traditional music, showcasing representations that make up the universe of Junina festivities.
Closing the children's block at 7:10 PM, the current champion "Pipoquinhas na Roça" from Belém entered the arena to defend the title won in 2024, with a performance full of irreverence and energy.
“Pipoquinhas na Roça" came to pay tribute to the woodcut painter, José Borges. We are bringing a bit of Northeastern culture in the form of woodcut. And our main theme is the monster of the sertão,” highlights Heitor Souza, president of the Quadrilha.

Starting at 7:45 PM, it was the turn of the adult quadrilhas to take the spotlight. Anarriê de São João, representing São Miguel do Guamá, opened the competition. Next, the quadrilha Roceiros Pedreirense da Tia Beneca from Tomé-Açu took the arena.
Then it was the turn of Arrasta Pé Junino from Belém to take the stage. Also, Rosa Vermelha from Curuçá moved the audience in the center of Praça do Povo at Centur. The penultimate performance of the night was by Sabor Tropical from Viseu, and the program concluded with the performance of the quadrilha Explosão Junina from Val-de-Cans, also from Belém.
Joy and emotion during the Junina attractions
The stands and squares were packed throughout the night on Sunday, with entire families enjoying the program and cheering for each new performance.

“For 5 years, my family and I have been present here at the Arraial. This year, we noticed that it is lively, more joyful, very attractive. I love the quadrilhas, the food, and the performances that happen here,” highlights Josiel Vasconcelos, who came with his family to enjoy Arraial 2025.
Mestre Damasceno and a lot of carimbó on the Verequete Stage.
In addition to the State Quadrilha Contest, the program of Arraial de Todos os Santos includes performances on the Verequete stage, set up in Praça do Artista, and at Teatro Margarida Schivasappa.
On the Verequete stage, performances by the renowned Mestre Damasceno, along with the carimbó group Nativos Marajoaras, took place. The Mestre sang his main hits and enchanted those present.
Besides Damasceno, the stage hosted dance performances with Boi Máscara, represented by the Boi Tinga collective, as well as toadas with the Cia de Expressões Culturais Etnias da Dança. The night ended with the parafolkloric group “Os Pretinhos.”

The Junina Birds 'fly' and enchant the audience
At Teatro Margarida Schivasappa, the presentation of the traditional Junina bird Tangará, which preceded the performance of the iconic and irreverent Cordão de Bicho Oncinha, marked the first weekend of festivities at the FCP headquarters.
“The plot revolved around the hunting, recovery, resurrection, and care for the bird. With a lot of humor, but also seriousness, the story of the tangará was told with colors, dances, and legends,” says Cai Bentes, who represented the hunter and was one of those responsible for the Tangará bird show.
