Member of the Red Command arrested for attacks on commercial establishments in Ananindeua
Arrest warrant was executed against a member of the Red Command, investigated for extortion and financing illegal activities in the state
The Civil Police of Pará, through the Department for the Repression of Criminal Gangs (DRFC), linked to the Division for the Repression of Organized Crime (DRCO), launched Operation Synergy last Wednesday (18), resulting in the execution of a preventive arrest warrant against a suspect of involvement in attacks on commercial establishments in the state.
The investigation examines the actions of the criminal faction Red Command, involved in crimes such as vehicle theft, extortion, and property damage.
According to delegate Juliano Corrêa, head of the DRCO, the reporting of occurrences by victims is essential for the advancement of investigations. "The reporting of occurrences by victims of extortion or any other form of coercion, practiced individually or by groups, is fundamental for the protection of society and the effective action of security agencies," he emphasized.
The investigations indicated that the arrested individual was providing personal bank accounts to receive amounts extorted from victims, the so-called "crime fees," used to finance the illegal actions of the group.
According to delegate Breno Ruffeil, head of the DRFC, the work is ongoing and aims to completely dismantle the operations of factions in the state. "The Department for the Repression of Criminal Gangs has been acting on various fronts, mainly in repressing violent actions aimed at destabilizing public order. We remain committed to criminally holding all those involved accountable," he reinforced.
Investigations continue to identify other members of the criminal organization and dismantle the financial core of the faction.
