An out-of-class learning experience marked the routine of 44 students from the 3rd year of high school at the Amabílio Alves Pereira State School in the municipality of Concórdia do Pará, in the northeast of the state. In recognition of the students' performance in the mock exam of the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb), the young people participated in an educational visit to the Utinga State Park in Belém, with a special focus on the Reintroduction and Monitoring Project of Ararajubas, one of the most emblematic birds of the Amazon.

The initiative is part of the pedagogical project "Who Dedicates, Travels: Knowledge that Takes You Far," developed by students Luíggi, Oci Neto, and Thaís Guimarães from the 3rd year B, with the support of the Student Council and coordination from teachers Antônia Izabel, Allina Tainá Lobo, Edmilson Santo, and José Timóteo. The school's principal, Antônia Cilene Costa, also accompanied the action, which aims to stimulate student engagement in preparation for Saeb 2025.

During the visit to the Utinga State Park, the students closely learned about the work developed in the Reintroduction and Monitoring Project of Ararajubas, conducted by the Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio). The activity allowed students to understand the importance of biodiversity conservation and the challenges faced to protect endangered species, such as the ararajuba.

Learning - Guided by environmental technicians, the participants had the opportunity to observe the birds in the rehabilitation aviary, learn about the species' reintroduction strategies into nature, and understand how scientific monitoring contributes to the success of these actions. Direct contact with the forest environment and with professionals working in the environmental field provided an enriching experience for the young people.

In addition to the environmental aspect, the trip also reinforced interdisciplinary content worked on at school, such as history, science, philosophy, and environmental education. "It was an opportunity to make learning more meaningful, connecting theory and practice and valuing Amazonian culture," highlighted teacher Allina Tainá Lobo.

According to the biodiversity manager of Ideflor-Bio, Mônica Furtado, the choice of Utinga State Park as the destination for the educational trip also had a symbolic character. "Located in the capital of Pará, the park represents an important space for conservation and environmental education, being a showcase of Amazonian biodiversity accessible to the urban population," she emphasized.

For the school's administration, the initiative reinforces the importance of projects that value academic merit and encourage students to dedicate themselves to their studies. "We want to show that knowledge opens doors and that their effort can lead them to transformative experiences," stated principal Antônia Cilene Costa.
