With the aim of providing a moment of learning and knowledge exchange, such as deconstructing stereotypes and prejudices, valuing ancestry, and the importance of the public broadcaster as a disseminator of education and knowledge, the staff of Cultura Rede de Comunicação participated in the lecture Reforesting Minds. The debate on essential issues took place on Monday, the 23rd, and addressed indigenous themes and public communication.

The action was led by the Secretary of State for Indigenous Peoples, Puyr Tembé, and brought together the president of Funtelpa, Miro Sanova, directors, and professionals from various areas of Cultura broadcasters.

"Puyr came to share her knowledge, her history, of the indigenous peoples, and we received it not only as individuals but as communicators that we are. This moment serves for us, both from the Radio, TV, and Portal, to learn so that we can, in our programs, speak with authority and knowledge. And in this year that is so important for the State of Pará, and that we will also have a crucial role in communication within the State, outside the State, and outside the country, we need to be more tuned in and more prepared to show that we have the capacity to do great public communication," emphasized Miro Sanova.

Based on personal accounts, her experiences, and examples of struggles, Puyr Tembé highlighted the importance of expanding discussions about indigenous peoples for a true social transformation to occur.

"Indigenous peoples have sought to be more present in places. But being present in places will only be possible if people start to understand who we are and where we come from to be able to help us, because it is not easy. And when we bring this message of reforesting minds, it is not just about planting in the territory, but about planting love, solidarity for others, to bring about a deeper change that bears good fruit," emphasized Puyr Tembé.

On the occasion, two videos from the Cultura Eco project were also presented, addressing information and curiosities about indigenous peoples in Pará, which are being aired during the breaks of TV Cultura's programming. Additionally, a special documentary produced by TV Cultura during the Indigenous Peoples Week 2024, held in Belém as a preliminary event to COP 30, was presented.

Emotional about the audiovisual production, Puyr Tembé praised the result and emphasized the importance of expanding the dissemination of the documentary, using it as a teaching and debate tool.

"We had the opportunity to present this documentary to them. Everyone liked it, the indigenous peoples see themselves within the process, those who were not in the images felt represented by their own people who appeared in the images, so I am very grateful. This documentary cannot remain only on TV Cultura and neither at the secretary's office; it needs to go to learning spaces, it needs to go to schools to also become a debate, to become a teaching instrument so that students can watch and engage, allowing our students the opportunity to learn," she emphasized.
