Civil Police of Pará arrests two men for drug trafficking and association for trafficking in Abaetetuba
With the suspects, cell phones, cocaine, marijuana, motorcycles, cash, precision scales, and tools used in drug trafficking were seized.
The Civil Police of Pará caught two men in the act for the crimes of drug trafficking and association for trafficking. The police action took place on Monday morning (23) and involved teams from the Abaetetuba Police Station, the Homicide Police Station of Abaetetuba, and the Regional Superintendence of Baixo Tocantins.
“About a week ago, our teams received reports about the sale of drugs near a college located in the municipality. During the report, the name of the main seller and the supplier of the drug material was provided. Based on this information, the police teams began investigations, conducting surveillance at the address of one of the accused, at which time suspicious activity was observed,” reported delegate Mhoab Khayan, superintendent of the region.
The man identified as the drug seller was seen entering the supplier's house and receiving a black package. He even tried to disguise the delivery of the material, which confirmed the suspicion of illicit transaction. The police immediately approached the two individuals.
“During the approach to the suspects, the agents identified that the package contained a substance similar to cocaine. One of them confessed to having gone to pick up the drug with the supplier to resell near the college. The other suspect, upon noticing the approach of the Civil Police, threw his cell phone on the ground, damaging it to destroy possible evidence. Due to the flagrant situation, the police entered the property, where more substance similar to cocaine, a considerable amount of substance similar to marijuana, as well as other objects were seized,” detailed Mhoab.
In the property, R$49.00 in cash, three damaged cell phones, two precision scales, a notebook with accounting notes of the trafficking, two motorcycles, a television, two watches, and two scissors were also found and seized.
The arrested individuals were taken to the Abaetetuba Police Station for the formalization of the arrest in flagrant and are at the disposal of the Justice. Investigations continue to identify other individuals involved in drug trafficking in the region.
