The Government of Pará inaugurates this Friday (27) the first phase of the City Park of Belém, a project that will host the 30th UN Conference on Climate Change (COP30) in November, the largest global event on environmental sustainability. The Public Security System, coordinated by the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), will highlight preventive and ostensive actions from the opening of the gates at 3 PM and during the official program, which starts at 5 PM.

With an expected audience of up to 30,000 people, the event will feature shows by Arraial do Pavulagem, Dona Onete, and Zaynara. To ensure public order and the smooth flow of vehicle traffic in the vicinity, about 300 agents will operate in the operation, supported by vehicles on four and two wheels. The Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense of Pará, Ualame Machado, emphasizes that the strategy aims to ensure a safe and peaceful experience for all attendees.

“Our teams will be strategically positioned throughout the park and in the access areas, with the goal of ensuring order and safety for everyone. In addition to foot and motorized policing, we will use monitoring and communication technologies to optimize the agents' performance and respond quickly to any eventuality. The integration between the different security forces is essential for the success of the operation. We are confident that, with this robust and well-planned security scheme, the 30,000 expected visitors will be able to fully enjoy the inauguration of the City Park without worries,” he stated.

Operational planning
During the inauguration event, the preventive ostensive patrolling will be the responsibility of the Military Police (PM), operating on foot, in vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles within the park area. Public access will be through three entrances: two on Júlio César Avenue and one on Senator Lemos Avenue with Pedro Álvares Cabral.

The headquarters of the 1st Battalion of the PM, located within the park, will serve as the Command Post for the integrated operation. The Civil Police will reinforce the on-duty personnel at the local precinct and will also operate at the command post through the Specialized Delegation for Major Events, to expedite any necessary procedures.

For pre-hospital care, the Fire Department will provide a rescue vehicle and a specialized team for emergencies, rescue, and firefighting. Segup, through the Air Group of Public Security (Graesp), will conduct aerial patrols throughout the day and during the event, supporting the ground teams.

In traffic, the State Department of Transit (Detran), the Highway Police Battalion (BPRv), and the Public Security Secretariat of Belém (Segbel) will begin operations at 2 PM, with control actions and guidance for drivers on Júlio César and Senator Lemos avenues, at the park's entry points and on the return. Tow trucks will be available for the removal of vehicles blocking the roads.
