Eco-bags with literary quotes, buttons, mugs, and personalized bookmarks, along with the ‘literary ducklings’, stand out among the main souvenirs sold at the 28th Pan-Amazonian Book Fair and Multivoices Fair, promoted by the State Government through the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult).

“In addition to books, the public seeks many other products related to the literary world, including to keep as an emotional memory of each edition of the Book Fair. That memory will be related to a family outing, with loved ones, or even alone in this space, which is so welcoming and inclusive. Books and this universe provoke these feelings of feeling sheltered,” emphasizes the bookseller from Selecta Livros, Monique Farias.

The geography teacher from the state education network, Conceição Rosa, believes that the products help strengthen and encourage visitors' connection with literature. “Books helped build the person and professional I am, and knowing their importance, I brought my stepdaughter so that the literary universe also becomes part of her life. These playful objects, such as eco-bags with quotes from authors, stimulate the imagination and provoke a connection with the literary world,” she shares.

For five editions, Guarderia Souvenirs Literários, an online store from Fortaleza, has been selling literary-related souvenirs at the Book Fair and Multivoices Fair in Pará. “Our products deliver the identity of the customer; we have a great diversity of buttons and bookmarks, especially from national and Pará authors, which serve as another way to encourage reading. I usually say that gifting books is an incentive, but using an eco-bag or other products from this universe makes literature resonate even more,” states Augusta Carneiro, the store manager.

The university student, Lívia Dickson, believes that selling other literary products beyond books is strategic, especially to attract the attention of the youth audience. “Young people need stimuli to put down their phones and get closer to books. I believe that by participating in the Fair, the products can serve as a bridge to the literary world, to enter this very special world,” she concludes.

Service - The 28th Pan-Amazonian Book Fair and Multivoices Fair takes place from the 16th until next Friday (22nd), from 9 AM to 10 PM, with entry until 9 PM, at Hangar Convention and Exhibition Center in Belém.
