The State University of Pará (Uepa) participates in the national selection process for the Professional Master's Degree in Educational Processes and Technologies (ProfEducatec), a stricto sensu postgraduate program recognized by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), which brings together various associated institutions across the country. Applications are open until October 15, and must be made exclusively through the website of the State University of Amazonas (UEA), responsible for coordinating the process.

ProfEducatec offers 110 vacancies nationwide, with 76 for general competition and 34 reserved for affirmative actions (black/brown, indigenous, quilombola, people with disabilities, and trans candidates). At Uepa, 10 vacancies are offered – eight for general competition and two reserved (one for people with disabilities and one for black/brown, indigenous, or quilombola candidates). Classes start in March 2026, at the Ananindeua campus.

The program lasts 24 months, with a workload of 300 hours in subjects, in addition to research and technical production activities. Students develop investigations in two areas of concentration: Educational Technologies for Basic Education and Innovative Processes and Digital Cultures in Basic Education, which unfold into four research lines: Development, implementation, and evaluation of educational technologies; Teacher training in technologies for Basic Education; Innovative processes and active methodologies; Digital cultures and multiliteracies.

The selection process will consist of four stages: registration approval (eliminatory), document analysis and curricular scoring (classificatory), research proposal evaluation (classificatory and eliminatory), and individual interview (classificatory and eliminatory). The final score will be the arithmetic average of the last three stages, and candidates must obtain at least 70 points in the research proposal and the interview to be qualified.

To participate, it is necessary to be a class teacher in Basic Education in the public network (municipal, state, or federal) and hold a bachelor's degree (or equivalent under the law). The candidate must register in only one research line, present supporting documentation, a curricular scoring table, and a preliminary research proposal (5 to 7 pages), in addition to paying an application fee of R$ 130 - with the possibility of exemption for people with disabilities or those registered in CadÚnico.

The faculty of Uepa in the program includes researchers active in the research lines of Teacher training in technologies for Basic Education, Innovative processes and active methodologies, and Digital cultures and multiliteracies, including Reginaldo de Oliveira Corrêa Junior, Bianca Venturieri, Wanderson Alexandre da Silva Quinto, Luely Oliveira da Silva, Fábio José da Costa Alves, Natália Karina Nascimento da Silva, Thiago Nicolau Magalhães de Souza Conte, and André Monteiro Diniz.

ProfEducatec is a professional master's program that seeks to qualify Basic Education teachers in innovative practices and the use of educational technologies, promoting improvements in teaching and learning processes in different school contexts.

According to Professor Luely Oliveira da Silva, coordinator of ProfEducatec at Uepa, the university's participation in the program reinforces its commitment to pedagogical innovation. “This master's program is a way to value teaching work, offering excellent continuing education and contributing to innovation in teaching and learning processes,” she states.
