Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí promotes action for Yellow September in the hemodialysis sector
The activity 'Fun Mind' brought messages of affection and reflection on emotions to patients in treatment, strengthening bonds and self-esteem

Throughout the month of September, Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí has been promoting various actions related to the Yellow September campaign, which aims to raise awareness about suicide prevention and reinforce the importance of mental health care.
One of the initiatives was the activity 'Fun Mind', held in the hemodialysis sector this morning. The action was conceived by psychologist Jordana Ferreira, social workers Eleide Gonçalves and Lilian Figueiredo, and nutritionist Alynny Rayla, with the support of nurses, nursing technicians, doctors, and other professionals from the unit.

In a playful way, the activity stimulated the understanding of emotions and valued the welcome as an essential part of promoting mental health. To make the moment even more special, audio messages recorded by patients' family members were played, with messages of affection, motivation, and hope, strengthening emotional bonds and self-esteem.
The director of the unit, Léia Sandim, highlighted the relevance of the campaign and the engagement of the multidisciplinary team: "Yellow September is a moment of awareness for all of society. Our team has been dedicated to developing activities that bring lightness, listening, and encouragement to life, reaffirming Polyclinic's commitment to the comprehensive health of patients."

The initiative was also praised by users. Patient Maria da Luz rated the experience as motivating. "The action was very good, I really like these events. It cheers up the patient, it’s more strength, more encouragement that you are giving. And for the companions too. This motivates participation in the conversation circles and communication with the team. I loved it. Those who organized the event deserve congratulations, keep it up."
Patient Francisco Alves de Moraes emphasized the emotion provided by the activity. "This action and all the actions that hemodialysis carries out are great and necessary, I was very moved today. The team deserves congratulations for conceiving and carrying out this moment."
The Yellow September programs continue throughout the month at Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí, reinforcing the message of valuing life and caring for mental health.

Services
Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí provides 32 weekly psychology appointments, distributed between Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. For the unit's psychologist, Jordana da Silva Ferreira, active listening is an essential resource. "It gives the patient the chance to feel truly heard, welcomed, and respected in their pain, which already greatly reduces the feeling of loneliness and helplessness."
This care is strengthened by the multidisciplinary work. "Emotional suffering often involves different dimensions of life: while the psychologist offers emotional support, the doctor assesses clinical conditions, the nurse monitors warning signs, and the social worker can assist with practical issues and family support. This integration makes care more complete and effective, increasing the chances of recovery and well-being."
Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí is a unit of the Government of Pará, managed by the Institute of Social and Environmental Health of the Amazon (ISSAA).
