Semas highlights notice that strengthens the Sustainable Livestock Program in Pará
Public call aims to hire companies to requalify up to 100 family farming properties in agrarian reform settlements

The State Secretariat for the Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas) is advancing in the consolidation of the State Sustainable Livestock Program of Pará, with the launch of the notice published by the Brazilian Fund for Biodiversity (Funbio) this week.
The public call will select a specialized company or consortium to provide inputs and execute necessary services for the commercial requalification of rural properties in the municipality of Novo Repartimento, in the southeastern region of the state.
The notice is financed with resources from the Eastern Amazon Fund (FAO), of which Funbio is the operational and financial manager, upon request from Semas to the Management Council. The contract provides for the requalification of up to 100 family farming properties and small producers, located in agrarian reform settlements, with up to four fiscal modules.
These properties will benefit from the "Unlock Bonus Now" mechanism, which guarantees technical and financial support for socio-environmental adequacy and allows the unlocking of production for the formal market. Among the services to be executed are the preparation of technical reports on areas with illegal deforestation, the isolation of identified areas, and the registration of information on the enabled commercial requalification platform.

The process is part of the implementation actions of the State Plan Amazon Now (PEAA), aligned with the State Policy on Climate Change and the international commitments made by Brazil, such as the NDC.
For Semas, the initiative is strategic because it promotes the reintegration of small producers into the market, reduces risks of commercial blockage, and strengthens the livestock chain in Pará in light of the environmental regularization requirements set by slaughterhouses and international markets.
Proposals can be submitted until October 17, at 6 PM (Brasília time), and questions must be sent by October 6. The hiring will follow the model with mandatory technical qualification, and the maximum execution period for the services is 140 days after the contract is signed.
"The notice represents a strategic step for strengthening the Sustainable Livestock Program of Pará. The initiative reinforces our commitment to support producers in socio-environmental adequacy, ensuring productive inclusion and contributing to the reduction of emissions in the livestock sector. This movement shows how well-structured partnerships can transform challenges into opportunities for a low-carbon economy," highlighted the director of Climate Change at Semas, Indara Aguilar.
Established by State Decree No. 3,533/2023, the Sustainable Livestock Program of Pará seeks to offer incentives and solutions for the cattle sector to advance in productivity and productive inclusion with environmental responsibility. The publication of the notice marks another step towards the consolidation of this agenda, with Semas acting as the coordinating body.
