Employees of the Natural Gas Distribution System (SDGN), in Barcarena, participated in a campaign to present the Sustainable Development Goals, conducted by a consultancy in environmental solutions, through the Environmental Education Program for Workers (Peat), which aims to carry out environmental education actions at Companhia Gás do Pará (GdP).

In pursuit of the energy transition, GdP operates in accordance with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), part of a UN plan for a fairer and more sustainable world. Simple, individual actions, such as donating food, clothing, or footwear, to industry-focused practices, innovation, and infrastructure, which are the focus of Gás do Pará, should be considered in line with the United Nations agenda.

“Gás do Pará has a more assertive sustainable practice. With the company's work, fewer greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere. It is clean energy,” recalls Marcelha Vaz, responsible for conducting this week's dynamics with GdP employees. A social worker specializing in the environment and sustainable development, Marcelha also emphasizes the need to qualify all participants as agents of transformation. “It is also important to multiply. Talk at home, with family, with friends, about the topic, on how to have sustainable behaviors,” reinforces Marcelha.

The professionals showed enthusiasm for the topic and the dynamics of the debates. “Important work of awareness, of humanizing our projects, reinforcing GdP's commitment to promoting environmental and social issues,” highlights Adriano Glauco, occupational safety technician. “It was very interesting, talking about eradicating poverty, zero hunger, health, and well-being. Topics addressed very naturally and with a good understanding from the group,” celebrates Mauro Sérgio, GdP supervisor.

SDGs in Brazil - The United Nations, through partnerships, works to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals: the 17 targets that address the main challenges faced by people in Brazil and around the world. The goals are a global call for the end of poverty, protection for the environment and climate, as well as guarantees of peace and prosperity for all people.
