Detran service station at Parque Shopping surpasses 7,000 attendances in nine months and establishes itself as a reference in the Metropolitan Region
Unit reinforces decentralization strategy in Belém and stands out for the high demand for licensing services and quick service
The service station of the State Department of Traffic (Detran) at Parque Shopping has surpassed the mark of 7,000 attendances in nine months of operation, establishing itself as one of the main quick service units in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The station is the third delivered by the State Government in the capital, reinforcing the agency's decentralization strategy.
Inaugurated in February 2025, the unit was designed to bring Detran services closer to the population, offering an easily accessible, air-conditioned space integrated into the daily flow of the shopping center. The proposal also aimed to reduce the volume of demand at other traditional units, distributing service more evenly and comfortably for users.
Since it opened its doors, the station has recorded high demand, especially for services related to licensing, which represent a significant portion of the total attendances. Among the most requested services are: document validation, opening of first-time licensing processes, issuance of payment slips, and vehicle services.
The variety and availability of these services in a space with continuous circulation have ensured high adherence. According to the unit's management, the average attendance increases during alternative hours, when many users take advantage of their visit to the shopping center to quickly resolve pending issues.
For the general director of Detran, Renata Coelho, the balance directly reflects the progress of modernization and decentralization actions of the agency. According to her, the establishment of the station at Parque Shopping is part of a broader strategy to make Detran's service more agile, practical, and closer to users' routines.
“Having a station inside Parque Shopping was a decision made to facilitate access for the population. The number of attendances shows that the public approved this initiative. We are decentralizing, modernizing processes, and bringing our services to places where people already are, with comfort, safety, and speed. This is the Detran we want to deliver: close, efficient, and committed to the quality of service,” she stated.
Impact of decentralization on the overall flow of Detran
In addition to user comfort, the creation of the unit in the shopping center has brought direct impacts on the organization of service in Belém and Ananindeua. The redistribution of demand has reduced queues at other stations, ensuring more balance and efficiency in the system as a whole.
User satisfaction also highlights the efficiency of the unit. Among them is entrepreneur Edicarlos Martins, who sought the Parque Shopping station to resolve vehicle-related issues and highlighted the speed of service. “I came to the Detran station at Parque Shopping to resolve a pending issue with my vehicle and was surprised by the speed. I was attended to quickly, without bureaucracy, and the team was very helpful. For someone with a busy routine like mine, finding such an organized and efficient service makes all the difference. I leave satisfied and with everything resolved in a few minutes,” he commented.
The strategic location also offers logistical advantages, such as ample parking, enhanced security, extended hours of operation, and accessibility, factors pointed out by users as differentiators in choosing the unit. The director of licensing, drivers, and vehicle registration of the agency, Ana Carolina Sampaio, evaluates that the station reinforces the proposal to bring essential services to high-traffic and easily accessible locations.
“The Parque Shopping station reinforces our policy of bringing Detran services closer to the population. The positive response from the public shows that we are on the right track by providing qualified service in strategic and high-traffic locations. Our goal is to ensure that citizens can resolve their demands with agility, comfort, and safety, and this unit has fulfilled this role exemplarily,” she emphasized.
The Detran Advanced Station at Parque Shopping operates on the ground floor, Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Service is provided by prior appointment through the call center 154.
