The Government of Pará, through the State Department of Transit (Detran), launched this Wednesday (7) the Special Edition of the CNH Pai D’égua program - Unconventional Mothers, guaranteeing 4,000 slots for the free issuance of the National Driver's License (CNH) to mothers of people with disabilities throughout the state.

The announcement was made by Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, alongside the General Director of Detran, Renata Coelho, in Belém. The action is part of the state policy for social inclusion and mobility and marks the celebrations for Mother's Day.

“We are offering 4,000 completely free CNHs for unconventional mothers. There will be 2,000 slots for Belém and the Metropolitan Region, and another 2,000 distributed among the other regions of Pará. It is a way to recognize these women and ensure dignity, mobility, and autonomy,” declared Hana Ghassan.

Dignity and recognition

The General Director of Detran, Renata Coelho, also an unconventional mother, highlighted the social impact of the initiative. “Having a free CNH is not a privilege, it is a tool of dignity. This program ensures mobility, facilitates access to therapies, appointments, commitments with children, and allows these women to generate income with more freedom. As an unconventional mother, I feel extremely happy to be part of this inclusive government, which guarantees rights with sensitivity and respect,” she stated.

The special edition of CNH Pai D’égua reaffirms the commitment of the Government of Pará to public policies aimed at inclusion, accessibility, and support for families facing the challenges of raising and caring for people with disabilities.
