'Money in the Paraense School' improves teaching quality at Bengui School
The State School Christian Association of Bengui uses resources from the Program to meet the daily needs of the unit more efficiently

To support the actions of the management in administration and promote a more comfortable school environment, the State School Christian Association of Bengui uses resources from the Money in the Paraense School Program (Prodep), from the State Department of Education (Seduc), to meet the daily needs of the unit more efficiently.
With the investment, the school management was able to install the electrical system, acquire and install air conditioning units, replace the ceilings in the bathrooms, kitchen, and office, as well as make repairs in the women's bathroom and install glass in the classroom windows, in addition to maintaining the school garden. The unit received a total amount of R$ 77,443.58.

Seduc observes that the conscious and responsible management of these resources allows the daily needs to be met with more autonomy, contributing to the strengthening of public schools and fulfilling the commitment to quality education.

“The importance of being able to acquire these items is immense, as it provides more dignity to both teaching and learning. When we have a healthy environment, we enjoy returning to it more. This also contributes to the active engagement of our students. The community feels happy when we make any changes, as they see the return of what is being done,” highlights Edna Miranda, the unit's director.
These actions directly impact the improvement of teaching and learning conditions, reflecting a more suitable environment for students, teachers, and other education professionals.

Teacher Jane Estumano, who teaches 1st grade in elementary school, shares her view on how air conditioning can impact the learning environment in the classroom.
“The influence of air conditioning in our classroom is positive for learning. I notice that when a student comes to school knowing that the environment has air conditioning, they feel more comfortable because the heat does not bother them. This helps the class to be calmer and allows me to perform better in lessons, as I can explain calmly, without hurry or agitation. Being in a cool and pleasant environment helps us a lot,” says the teacher.
“The difference with air conditioning is very good. It makes me feel better because in the heat I get more stressed and have headaches. With air conditioning, I can concentrate much more,” says Lucas Henrique, a 5th-grade student.

Environmental Education - Within the program, there is the subprogram Environment, Sustainability, and Climate, aligned with the mandatory curricular component of Environmental Education - unprecedented in Brazil - to implement actions and educational practices in basic education aimed at defending the preservation of the environment; forming conscious and critical citizens, strengthening civic practices aimed at environmental sustainability; encouraging the participation of the school community in preserving the balance of the environment, and developing skills focused on the conservation and sustainability of the environment.
“I really liked our school's garden because it provides healthier food, like vegetables, for our meals. Here we have cilantro, which we also call green smell, and it was planted in the garden. I also wanted to say how important the garden is for us because it gives us more food, more vegetables, and thus our diet becomes healthier,” said Felipe Galvão, a 5th-grade student.
