PC arrests five people and seizes cell phones during operations in Greater Belém
The arrested individuals were taken for standard procedures and are at the disposal of the Justice system.

The Civil Police of Pará launched, on the morning of this Thursday (5), the second phase of the operation "Magnet Hands", coordinated by the Delegacy of Protection to the Fan and Major Events (DPTGE). The objective was to execute 13 search and seizure warrants at the residences of individuals investigated for stealing cell phones at stadiums and major events in the capital. All warrants were executed: 11 in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, 1 in Benevides, and another in Cametá. During the operation, 24 cell phones were seized, sent to the specialized police station, and will be examined.

“The second phase of the operation 'Magnet Hands' aims to continue the investigations that were already underway before the launch of the first phase in May of this year, which resulted in the arrest of 12 pickpockets, an organized group that operates in football stadiums and major events to steal cell phones. In today's action, we managed to seize 24 devices, two of which are already registered as stolen. The other devices will be evaluated to determine their origin,” explained delegate Lucas Machado, coordinator of the operation.

A cell phone store was identified by the suspects as a point of sale for the devices stolen by the criminal group. During the searches, several mobile devices and counterfeit products were seized.

The PCPA also simultaneously launched the second phase of the operation "State Wall" to execute other arrest warrants issued by the 1st Court of Police Inquiries and Precautionary Measures of Belém, within the scope of the first phase, as well as 20 search and seizure warrants. The action was coordinated by the Metropolitan Police Directorate (DPM) and took place in the capital and the metropolitan area.

“Since early morning, several teams from the delegacies and sections that make up the DPM have been on the streets to execute these warrants. So far, five people have been arrested, two of whom are members of a criminal faction, and the other is being investigated for drug trafficking. It is worth noting that the 'State Wall' operation will continue because the goal of the Civil Police is to execute judicial warrants and remove from circulation any person who is in violation of the Justice system,” said delegate Daniel Castro, head of the DPM.

The arrested individuals were taken to the police station for standard procedures and are at the disposal of the Judiciary.
