The Government of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Pará (Emater), participated this Sunday (8) in the 19th Ecological Walk, in the Community Vila de Santo Antônio do Prata, in the municipality of Igarapé-Açu, northeast of Pará.

The action was part of Environment Week and prioritized the planting of fifty tree seedlings to build a grove in the community and donations of about one hundred vegetable seedlings to residents of the region. All residents who received the fruit tree seedlings were registered so that the development of the donated seedlings can be monitored.

“This event has been happening for many years, and as always, Emater has been a partner in the reforestation actions of degraded areas, as well as in providing technical assistance in actions aimed at cultivating shrub species,” said Fredson da Silva, social extensionist at Emater.

The Ecological Walk is organized by the Umbandist Association Mãe Dinair and has the support of the Group of Studies in Education, Culture, and Environment (Geam/NaiaA/UFPA), in addition to the partnership with Emater.

“Let’s Plant” - The Government of Pará planted about 10,000 new trees in the 144 municipalities of Pará during the week, through the IV Environment Week of Emater. The event started on Wednesday throughout Pará, in partnership with municipal governments and institutions in the agrofarming and environmental sector.
