The Regional Hospital of Oriximiná Menino Jesus (HRMJ) presented the balance of its activities in the first half of 2025, highlighting the growth in the number of surgical procedures and the strengthening of the assistance provided in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

During the period, the hospital performed 540 surgeries, covering specialties such as orthopedics, gynecology, and general surgery.

Gretiane Souza Pereira, 44 years old, a resident of Oriximiná, underwent surgery and needed to stay hospitalized for 24 days until she recovered.

"My mother is diabetic and had a respiratory arrest due to very high blood sugar levels. Today, she is being discharged. I can only thank God and the hospital team for their care and attention to the medication schedules and monitoring of vital signs," said Rita de Kássia, Gretiane's daughter.

The patient's case reinforces the warning made by the technical director of the unit, Dr. Cláudio Almeida, about the need for adherence to the treatment of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension.

"Primary health care is primarily responsible for the management of these patients. The regular and timely use of continuous medications is essential," he emphasized.

The general director of the Regional Hospital of Oriximiná, Katiuscya Braga, highlighted that the number of surgeries performed in the semester reinforces the hospital's role for the community. "It is an important demand, and the hospital is fully prepared to serve the entire population of the Calha Norte region," she stated.

With 100% coverage by the Unified Health System (SUS), HRMJ has 26 inpatient and ICU beds, in addition to 16 beds for initial care. The unit is preparing to complete one year of foundation in the second half, with the goal of further expanding its operations in Calha Norte.
