Hemopa celebrates Psychologist Day and recognizes contribution to donors and patients
The institution emphasizes the role of psychology in treatment adherence and humanized care for patients and donors

On Psychologist Day, celebrated this Wednesday (27), the Pará Hemotherapy and Hematology Center Foundation (Hemopa) highlights the relevance of these professionals for the quality of care provided to donors and patients. The role of psychology is considered fundamental for the humanization of health services and for user adherence to treatments.
At Hemopa, psychologists are part of the multidisciplinary team responsible for welcoming and supporting people in different situations. They work from the first contact with the voluntary donor, helping to reduce emotional barriers, to the follow-up of patients with chronic hematological diseases, which require continuous monitoring.
In addition to clinical listening, psychology contributes with emotional assessments, guidance on acceptance of diagnoses, and support in adhering to complex treatments. They are also present in genetic counseling programs, educational activities, and actions aimed at families, expanding the care network and strengthening the trust bond with the institution.
With 31 years of service dedicated to Hemopa, clinical psychologist Eliane Nunes reinforces the importance of teamwork for the well-being of patients. “The patient needs emotional assessment to accept the diagnosis and adhere better to the treatment. The entire team contributes to ensure that they have quality of life within their health condition,” she stated.
The experience of professionals like Eliane shows how psychology is an indispensable part of the care process, helping the patient and their family cope with the emotional impacts of diseases and treatment.

The appreciation of the professionals at the Hemopa Foundation reinforces the understanding that mental health is an essential part of the comprehensive and humanized treatment offered by the institution.
